Kemba, Tatum and now....

Boston’s Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown are on Team USA’s short list of potential replacement additions.

I was already thinking of attending in Australia or Shanghai (i'm from Boston)..now even more of a reason to...but would this wear out our C's?

TP. Good experience if a few C's make the cut, plus more basketball for fans to watch

I'm on the fence about this.  On one hand, I would be happy to watch and see our guys in action, perhaps even see what progression there has been with the J's in the offseason.  On the other hand, injuries and fatigue are a concern.

I can't believe Love is playing. That guy can't stay healthy with a normal NBA season, now he is doing this?

Seems like a little bit of an odd mix, and they list Tatum as a guard.

Not a fan of our guys playing in this.  I'd rather they be resting or working in a gym on improving their game.

Man, that roster is looking pretty weak by Team USA standards.  This all seems reminiscent of the 2002-2004 teams that underwhelmed.  Does this follow a pattern?

Lose in '88, revamp the program, dominate at first, players lose interest, Team USA loses ('02-'06), revamp program, dominate again, players lose interest...

Apparently Lowry might pull out after thumb surgery a week ago.

I just heard the roster recited on Sirius NBA Radio and immediately thought, oh no this team is gonna get beat.  No MVPs, for example.

I've seen a pretty steady history of guys dramatically improving their game after spending time on USA rosters.

I can't give you names off the top of my head (I think Demarcus Cousins was one) but I remember there were multiple cases of young guy who didn't have much of a name, then played for team USA, then broke out in a huge way in the following seasons.

I think that being around those elite coaches and spending so much time hanging with (and practicing against) all these stars really provides a positive situation for young player development.  I feel this could be really big for Tatum's career making that team.

That was my first thought too.  However, our guys, especially Tatum, need as much competitive basketball as possible.  Summers off?  Ha!  That’s old-school.  Things have gotten way too competitive and everybody is looking for an edge.

You guys are overestimating the rest of the world lol. This USA team will still ROFLstomp the World Cup, and I'd argue that they'll mesh better with a clear hierarchy.
