Feels like that's probably the best they can do.

He will be an all star this year. Also I think Gasol could be had for a bag of popcorn

Which is kind of my point. I mean sure, maybe even if you found a way to package Ball for Conley or Gasol from MEM, it could work. Idk if the Lakers are getting Beal if Lonzo's the best or 2nd best piece in a trade package though. Same with AD. And I see folks here saying Kevin Love but I really doubt LAL goes after him anyways.

It will have a dual purpose if the Celts can get Vucevic.

Celts can't sign Vucevic in FA if the summer because Celts have no cap space.

What I like about getting Vucevic is it will not affect the Celts chances of getting AD.
Celts can trade for Vucevic without giving up the assets needed for an AD trade.

If Celts can't get AD in the summer then the Celts just re-sign Vucevic to a big contract as the Celts will own his Bird rights if they get him in a trade.

Lakers should be willing to trade Ball, Kuzma and Ingram to get a second superstar.  That will put them in position to add a 3rd superstar via free agency.  Smart move.
