Wow...I think this may have been my first missed game (have school this weekend)

Roy asked me about last night's tie.

We can either split the TPs of break out the ol' abacus and carry the averages to the next decimal to determine who won.

Lebron through 64 games scored 1808 pts for an average of 28.25 so his true score last night was +22.75

Leon through 65 scored 473 pts for an average of 7.28 so his true score last night was +22.72

So technically Lebron had the better score by .03.

I'm happy to go either way on how to determine what to do in case of a tie (though mathematically it wasn't a tie we can still call it such...hate to see Powe lose  ;) )

Thoughts on setting a precedent here?

My thoughts are, since the rules say we're using ESPN averages, we should continue to use them, rather than breaking it down to two or three decimal places.

I'd suggest splitting the TPs, or giving full TPs to both players (since they're both winners, I guess.)

  • The good ole days.
Roy Hobbs - Leon Powe, Celtics: 7.3 / 30, +22.7
truck lewis - lebron james, cavs: 28.3 / 51, +22.7

We have a tie!!  Unbelievable games by Powe and LeBron!  If we want to get technical, LeBron is averaging 28.250 PPG, and Powe 7.277 PPG, so technically LeBron wins by a margin of 0.027... but if I have any say, give em both TPs.

CW35 - Brandon Roy, Blazers: 22.9 / 31, +8.1
Kwhit10 - Dirk, Mavs: 25.5 / 27, +1.5
MattG12 - Ray Allen, Celtics: 18.5 / 22, +3.5
HDM- Dwight Howard, Magic: 20.9 / 18, -2.9
Redz - Nate Robinson, Knicks: 18.1 / 25, +6.9
Edgar-Gerald green-mavs-5.5 / DNP
Big Ticket - Larry Hughes, Knicks: 13.1 / 12, -1.1
Casperian - Richard Jefferson, Bucks: 18.2 / 10, -8.2
Chris - Stephon Marbury, Celtics: 2.3
ACF - Paul Pierce, Celtics: 20.3 / 17, -3.3
Quinn -Rajon Rondo: 11.6 / 4, -7.6
silvershamrocker - Ryan Gomes, Wolves: 13.1 / 28, +14.9
Rebus Rankin-Kevin Love, Wolves: 10.2 / 6, -4.2

I had already done all that tough math for ya, Redz!

I agree with the others that say full TPs to both.

Ah, hadn't seen that BT...Long day!  Comforting to see our math was identical anyhow (though you carried yours an extra decimal).

TPs for both...Like letting two gold medalists stand on the top podium.

It's a plan

So, did everyone get there TPs?

I'll go ahead and round Roy up to 2K...ANother mod can handle Truck...I'll be off line til tomorrow night.
Yup

Thanks, Redz!  TP for the effort. I gave TL his well-earned TPs, as well.

You can't select Starbury, Chris.  Players have to have played at least 10 games to establish an average; Starbury is at 6.

Roy, you know I don't read rules.  This is the only way I learn!

Kwhit10 - Leandro Barbosa, Suns: 14.2 / 22, +7.8
CW35 - Thabo Sefolosha, Thunder: 5.7 / 11, +5.3
Big Ticket - Russell Westbrook, Thunder: 15.8 / 20, +4.2
truck lewis - kyle weaver, thunder: 5.6 / 6, +0.4
Roy Hobbs - Jeff Green, Thunder: 17.3 / 17, -0.3
Rebus Rankin - Matt Barnes, Suns: 10.4 / 10, -0.4
Edgar-diaw-thekittens-12.7 / 12, -0.7
MattG12 - Sebastian Telfair, TWolves: 9.5 / 5, -4.5

A lot of people still in play for this one, with only 6 minutes left in the Thunder / Suns game.

EDIT:  Barbosa hits three big 3-pointers down the stretch to win it for Kwhit10.  Congrats!  TPs paid!
