Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn

Boston's Gordon Hayward will see a specialist on Monday to determine need for surgery on fractured left hand, agent Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN. If needed, surgery will take place Monday. Timeline on a return is unclear until then.

Just figured I would make a new topic, so that I don't have to keep posting in the Game Thread. I guess we'll wait until Monday to find out.

Man, we just can't have nice things can we?

Bad news. Nothing but bad luck for Hayward since coming to Boston. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

And about a minute before it happened Bill Simmons tweeted the kiss of death.
I’m not superstitious but man what luck.

From Simmons at 6:10 PM
Felt this way for a week. Was obeying JINX rules, no longer care because the following is just true... The Celts are legit good. No more ball-stoppers. Ball moves. Everyone attacks. And Hayward is 2017 Hayward again. (Can’t speak for the chemistry but that seems 👍 too.)

What's the worse case scenario for amount of time to get back?

He'll be back soon.

Absolute worst case scenario - he returns to form 2 seasons from now.

Worst case is he needs surgery and somehow the healing doesn't go to plan so he misses the season!

Worst case this team gels without him, Stevens forces him back and kills the chemistry and then we relive 2018 again.

So, 3-5 weeks without surgery to get back to full strength and if surgery, 3 plus months and sometimes another surgery? Praying no surgery is needed.

Except that it won't even be close to that, but okay lol. Easy to forget we cut off three cancers off our team.
