Everyone is feeling out the new CBA

I hope they talk Brown into taking less so we can sign Oubre or Wood as they would add significant pop to our bench.

I like your thinking!!!

Let's see:

We are returning two All NBA Players, one made first team, the other 2nd team. Oh and they are 25 and 26 years old, just entering their prime.

We traded for an All Star level 7'3" center/power forward, 27, who just finished his best season, is an elite 3 point shooter who can post up and defend the paint.

We have 29 year old 2nd team all NBA defensive guard who is perfect complement to the other 3 named above, just finished his best shooting year.

We have 25 year old defensive center specialist fully recovering from knee surgery and is projected to be a future defensive player of the year candidate, who has the highest field goal percentage in the NBA.

We have dude how just won 6th man of the year, an elite 3 point shooter and decent dribble penetrator, who would start for most other NBA teams.

We return a stud 3 point marksman on a very team friendly contract.

I think we have to take stock of what we have to date, and feel quite good. I do.  Sure I hope we could get a decent big wing back up who can defend 4s on a minimum contract.  But all in all, I like where we are today a lot.
I agree with this, I really like our team as it is.

It feels "weird" because the last 1.5 seasons (since the trade deadline in 2022) the team has felt very logically built. Now it is more of a WIP for multiple reasons:

1) Replacing Horford was never going to be easy. There just aren't a lot of guys with his skillset and the ones that are close are never available. This is why all lineups feel a little bit "off" when you place Horford on the bench and try to figure out the best starting five. It doesn't work because no other combination of players can make up for the loss of the things he brought to the table.

2) Porzingis was unexpectedly available and had time pressure due to his player option. They clearly decided they just needed to get him first and figure out the fit with the rest of our team later. Unfortunately, this may take more time than just one offseason.

3) The new CBA situation hurt them because Brad generally liked having long-term, controllable deals. All of a sudden, long terms deals for players that aren't stars became a lot harder to move.

4) Phoenix and LA scooped up most of the better minimum players out there that could have really helped us replace the depth we lost.

5) Having an new, inexperienced head coach without a long track record and also a newly revamped assistant coaching staff has left the fans with lots of uncertainty regarding their offensive and defensive philosophies next year.

Yup I'm concerned with 3, 4 and especially 5.
