Not sure naming someone after a terrible felony will go over well.

Oh come on, in the context of a basketball game it's just a playful felony. A victimless crime like punching someone in the dark.

Or nicknaming Vince Carter after a mental illness or Daniel Gibson after a **** film or Kirilenko after an assault weapon or Scalabrine after an unethical treatment of cattle.

yes but it's still not the same as "arson"

definition
the criminal act of deliberately setting fire to property

Exactly what he's doing, setting fire to the ball and basket, without question it's very deliberate.

How many times do you get up in arms when people say, "he killed him" or "murdered him" out there? Are you honestly saying you've never said or thought about someone killing a team/player when a guy trucks someone in football or when a team destroys another team? Maybe you haven't but either way it's not meant to be serious.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

listen I know exactly where you are coming form, it's sports talk

If some folks want to give Carsen "arsen" nickname as an inside nickname, whatever

but it won't "spread fire".  It's not like you will one day hear Scal reference him with such nickname

Fantasy Advice needed:

I'm in a keeper league where we draft rookies and can give them a 4 year deal.  I love Carsen Edwards (he was my draft binkie), but I don't think he's really worth a fantasy slot, even on a minimum salary deal.

The best-case I see for Carsen this year would be 10 points per game on 2.5 3's, with 1 assist and 1 rebound and perhaps 1/2 a steal.  Although the 3's will be good, those other stats would be a huge liability.

Then, I'm thinking, how could his numbers improve over the next 4 years.  Kemba and Smart are probably mainstays with the team over that period.  Even if Brown were to leave, I just don't ever see Edwards as a starter ... more a Lou Williams type scorer off the bench.

Anybody share a different opinion?

“Scalabrine after an unethical treatment of cattle.”

The White Mamba? Did Scalabrine torch the Bulls with 3 pointers?!?

I'm scratching my head about that one too. I remember vaguely him being called 'Veal' for a while... is that it?
