I forgot about Austin Collie—he was big on that drive.

Bit less than 10 years later our game against the Saints had a decidedly different result

Definitely one of those "we didn't realize how spoiled we were at the time" epiphanies.

Man those were the good old days for both the Pats and the Red Sox

Idk what happened. Owners cheaped out, we obviously lost star players to retirement or letting them go but didn't really replace them, putting out a mediocre product out there with mostly meh players, etc.

How was 2013 ten years ago? Time really flies when you get older, man. I just realized now that KG and Piece haven't been on the Celtics for AN ENTIRE DECADE. Strange.

10 years ago I had two wisdom teeth removed and just recovering on my sofa watching the Saints vs Pats game

It was intense and incredible. So glad I got to experience the comeback and cluthness from the goat.

Am I missing something with the Patriots game?

Converted a couple of clutch 3rd and 4th downs, some to Austin Collie...and the game-winner to Kenbrell Thompkins from a comeback win against the Saints. And the priceless face of Rob Ryan on live TV afterwards. It was the dreaded 2013 season where Brady had no receivers (except Edelman, who was in his full first-year as top receiving option) and basically dragged this corpse of a team to an AFCCG.

Like I said, what am I missing? It was a regular season Patriots win, that was of no consequence.

Yeah. The Red Sox game was infinitely more meaningful.

Incredible game, Incredible series, and it included Papi's 8th inning gane-tying grand slam, one of the most iconic hits in the history of baseball.

And I expect the Sox will get back to contention far sooner than the Pats.

John Henry can't afford another disappointing season and will try to spend his way back into fans' hearts this offseason.

Totality of the day and how each game went down.

Two very exciting games withdramatic comebacks that culminated in wins.

Brady v. Brees.  Pats down 4 with 73 seconds left and no timeouts.  Vintage Brady driving them down the field and winning the game at the last second.  One of Brady's greatest comebacks  Regular season game or not, it was pure drama.

Then you have the nightcap which was a Sox playoff game where Ortiz hits one of the most clutch homeruns of his career to tie up the game and Sox eventually go on to win.

From an entertainment standpoint and the fact you had two different Boston teams winning in similar fashion, you can't ask for a much better day.   And you have the adder layer of two of the greatest and clutchest Boston athletes of all time in the middle of it with Brady & Ortiz.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.
