pruitt is not a prototypical pg. But can mold into a billups/stuckey type with time. His assist is not as fancy as rondo but he usually makes simple smart passes, is a good dribbler, shooter and has the iq

Rondo is hurting lately. His confidence seems like its gone. Whats worst is that the big three are playing 1 on 1 basketball too frequently instead of rondo let be a pg(just like how he had more control during the run)

If the celtics want to play a more 1 on 1 game, pruitt should start and have rondo come in from the bench. Eddie house honestly is a specialist and shouldn't even play too much. He can give you some needed boost and threes in clutch situations but he shouldn't be a regular bench guy

We are tanking so bad right now i'm sure wyc is pressing ainge to think about doing something. Doc is a wreck haha , honestly i hope he is gone, what a lucky unskilled strategic coach

this whole post hurts my head.

so you want to restore rondo's lost confidence, after what many considered an allstar worthy streak by benching him? that makes zero sense, good message. "be perfect or your scrubbed. now go in thier and don't play tentative, which is what were benching you for. but remember, screw up and your benched."

and you figure firing doc is the best bet to restore the teams confidence in the goal of the team?

"hey guys, i know you say you love the guy and he just won a championship, but im going to go ahead and fire him for a 6/8  slump. we'll have to install a whole new system and philosphey, but next year, once were all back on baord we'll be gangbusters. unless we lose 4 out of 8 games in a row at any point. then i will of course fire our coach no matter what our history is."

I am not big on Pruitt, but he is growing on me in terms of demonstrating actual skill.

He has a serviceable handle, is a good outside shooter (when he's wide open), and a solid individual and team defender.  But that's where it begins and ends.  He is a pretty awful facilitator and makes pretty terrible decisions with the ball offensively.  He is weak and indecisive with the ball, almost always swinging the ball or passing it away from the hoop.

This could be a testament to the coaching, but he is doing little to show that he is an actual point guard.

To me Pruitt is a homeless man's Stephen Curry.  And that's insulting to Curry.

That said, I'd almost rather have him in there than TA or House at this point.
God bless and good night!

I like your point of view this time
hes not a passer
but he takes care of the ball and for some reason people like to see him taking the ball half court and starting the offense
I saw the same play you say when he mii the ball miserable trying to pull a rondo...but he is still capabloe to drive better than tony and eddie..
I am no turning my head down on eddie because of his shooting...hes a joker  card
Once a CrotorNat always a CROTORNAT  2 times CB draft Champion 2009-2012

Nice to be back!

Putting Eddie aside for a moment, the fact that one can make this point -- and not get much of an argument -- tells you all you need to know about the C's bench situation right now.

Tony Allen was supposed to step in and take up most of the slack for Posey - at least defensively given that he's a 2/3 vs a 3/4 like James -- and the fact that TA has failed to do this is the single biggest reason why the bench is so bad right now vs. a year ago.  Not the only reason -- but the biggest reason.

You don't have to tell me that.  I was CONVINCED that TA would not have a job anywhere in the Association this year...

Gabe Pruitt is not a similar player to Stephen Curry at all.  Did you watch Pruitt in college?  Pruitt was much more explosive and more athletic then Curry has ever been.  Is he a point guard?  Probably not, but I think he could be a solid combo guard off the bench in the future.
do it

Eddie house is a decent player but not put in at the right moment. Pruitt is a decent player not played enough. Patrick obryant hasn't seen much playing time and gets accused of being crap.(i feel experience is at least as important as practice)

so the retard who is messing things up is rivers.

He would be horrible at chess as he has his piesces but doesn't know when to move which at the right time.

Tonight for example davis and pruitt shouldn't have left the floor until they had to. We were winning by whatever margin with them on the floor. That alone is a sign of stupidity of a coach

He needs to learn two rules which always kill me when  doesn't use them. First he needs to learn when we have a 10 point lead and the team goes on a 7 point run CALL A TIME OUT BEFORE WE LOSE THE LEAD YOU FOOL! it helps diffuse the other teams momentum so you don't get blown out of your sneakers later on. The second being, when a player or players are on fire DON'T TAKE THEM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!. I like Doc as a person and everything but his coaching doesn't amaze me at all. Also enough with the sour puss look when we lose Doc, man up and scream at these guys. Red and Tommy would go berserk and toss things or kick things when a player was ridiculous or when they lost for stupid reasons.

Firstly, can somebody please lead 3/4's of the posters on this board to a ledge? My eyes would very much appreciate it.

Secondly, and more importantly, i think CHRIS said it best in that its probably not so much that Gabe deserves minutes, moreso some of the others deserve to not get those minutes.  Well said Chris....TP

TA is likely the only person who believed he could replace Posey since he thinks he's a better player. Danny et al. proposing the replacement by committee tells me they didn't think he could.
I'd really like to see more Gabe if only because he has the potential to help the bench. Sadly he'll probably disappear again when TA gets back. I'm hoping he gets to play on Friday. If Doc allows him to play in Cleveland I'll know he's in for sure.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.
