Time lord would be cool if not associated with his late start, which the media overblew.

yes but in turn it also means he will turn back time...and a once easy shot/layup is erased

Time Bandit.

Some of these blocks of his looks like he is indeed controlling time.

As he eventually learns to defend in space and perimeter I'll anoint him as Time Cop.

Jean-Claude will soon have NOTHING on this kid. Love what he brings to this team.

nicknames are stupid if forced they need to grow organically. I don't hate "timelord" but it is rooted in something negative.

i was at a party the other night and the ATL game was on and the discussion came up and i jokingly did my best paul heyman and yelled out "BLOCK LESNAR".

the kids gotta kick out of it...

I've come around on it ever since I came across this Harlem Globetrotter episode from 1979:  https://youtu.be/dMA57MS24rc

Going from Lord to Cop seems like a pretty serious demotion.

I'm torn on this.  On the one hand I don't want to be involved in bullying a young man who already seems to have a lot on his plate.

On the other hand, in basketball you earn your nicknames and he earned the nickname, "The Timelord."  The fact that it's actually being used in games after sick plays means he's reclaiming it and making it stand for something else other than his youthful transgressions which is really the best way to respond to any sort of criticism.

I mean Kobe invented the nickname "The Black Mamba" for himself and for years everyone used it mockingly just to reiterate what a personalityless lame-o he was.  He just kept chugging along putting up great performances and eventually forced everyone to associate the nickname with greatness  It became so ubiquitous that Celtics fans appropriated the nickname and created their own slant on it for Celtics Broadcaster Brian Scalabrine.

Actually he stole it off Roger Mayweather.
