Crazy game. The Celtics dug a huge hole for themselves by turning over often, and in ways that gave the Bobcats easy transition points. Their defense during much of the game was also half hearted. A lot of lazy passes and rotations meant they were down double digits late in the fourth.

House came in and the Cs came alive to steal the game. Twice the Cs hit big threes to go into an extra period. One by House, one by Ray. Then Ray hit two threes in the second OT to win the game for us. Doc went small to get back in the game with Pierce at the 4. It worked well enough but the lack of rebounding almost cost us the game in the first OT when the Bobcats got 4 offensive rebound and held the ball for almost two minutes with the lead.

The Celtics stole a win and moved back into a tie in the loss column with Orlando. The C's own the tie-breaker at the moment.

My votes:
Paul Pierce 1
Kept us in the game by bearing the offensive load through regulation. He faltered in OT just slightly though.

Ray Allen 2
Came alive from 4-14 to get to 8-20 and carried us in OT.

House 1
Sparked the comeback in the fourth.

Rondo 1
Recovered from a poor start to put up a solid game. His clutch free throws sent the game into OT.

Perk 1
He turned it over a LOT. But several were bad offensive foul calls. But he dominated the paint by blocking and altering a ton of shots. Most of his blocks came late when the C's needed every single stop to scratch out the win.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Same thing for me.

Pierce I - Carried us 1-4

Rondo I - Got us back in it in the 4th

House I - Got us back in it in the 4th

Perk I - Kept the Bobcats out of the paint for just about both OTs.

Ray II - Kept us from losing in the 1st OT, Won it for us in the 2nd.

  • Yup
Thanks for the poll Fafnir...I just didn't have enough gas in the tank last night

My votes

Ray 2
Perk 1
PP 2
House 1

Rondo had too many boneheaded passes last night to warrant a point against such competition...and yes, I know he atoned for them
Yup

Pierce had a better overall game than Ray did. No insult intended, if Ray shoots a little better than 4-14 in regulation we don't need his OT heroics.

Everyone has their own ways of dividing their votes, I really like getting people's rationales, that is why I like having the game threads up quickly. You get more posts in the thread  ;).

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
House - 2
Ray - 1
Pierce - 2
Perk - 1

Ray was a very inefficient through most of the game and gets the point for the crunch time shots. Perkins was a hindrance offensively, but gets the point for his defensive prowess and rebounding presence. Pierce and House were our best players. Rondo deserved a point as well for stepping up late in the 4th after an uninspiring game, but I can't decide from whom to take it.

Pierce 1
Ray 2
Rondo 1
House 2

Pierce kept us in the game all night and Rondo made some good passes like to Ray Allen. Still House and Ray came up the most when needed, so I think they were the players who lifted us to a win.
