And according to Goodman, they gave him a deadline of tonight to accept the offer...odd.
Yes it is, I think they're worried that there backup options will all be gone.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I think that Miller will probably get more than that, and if the Lakers pull the offer that's what we can give him.

I think he would be in a better situation to get a lot of minutes with us. We have two aging players at the wing spots who he could come in for. Kobe almost never comes out of the game, and they have Odom and Artest who can play the 3.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

ooooooo, hardball!
that's what you can do if you're the champs, though.
i think that it is in Miller's best interest to wait, as there will be teams with money to spend who lose out on big name FAs (think NYK).
Celtics fan for life.

I think Miller will pick either the Fakers or Miami. The chance to play with a legit top 5 NBA player (Kobe or Wade), warm weather, nightlife, and stacked rosters (trust me, Miami's roster will be stacked after free agency) will be very attractive to Miller. He is a sniper, a long range specialist and fits in very nicely to both line ups - especially the Fakers, because that's what they needed last season.

Personally, I hope he goes to the Knicks or another team that can pay him more because this does worry me if the Fakers or Heat sign him.  :(
I believe in God, Family, and The RED SOX!

Too rich for our blood. I'd give Morrow 5 years but not Miller. He has been dealing with injuries for 2 season now. Celtics also need to get younger to offset aging BIG3.
So if Morrow turns out to be mediocre it will be a consolation that we'll owe him 30 million just because he's young? That kind of logic always kills me.

Not saying they should. But 5 years for Miller, that is borderline psycho. For this point forward, you'll have to look at getting player to play along side Rondo. Where they can develop chemistry and grow together.

Morrow is arguably the best shooter in the league @ 24. He is legit with so much potential. And he is in the mold of Ray Allen a pure shooter. And in the future, he can make a nice transition @ starting 2.
I guess I just don't see it as any less psycho than giving 5 years to Morrow. The guy can shoot, but what else does he give you. I'll concede that he _may_ turn out to be a reliable top shooter (which Miller probably already is), but there's absolutely no evidence that he'll ever have the mustard to be a full-time starter. That position requires some defensive ability, passing and other offensive skills, so that you're not exposed when other teams deny you the three-point shot.
