The theme- could be the last straw for Neely, Julien, Chara, Rask, Krejci

Anything less than making it into the playoffs  will be considered a failure

Team finally has a nice mix of youth plus vet this season.

The Bruins are expected to make the playoffs, but that should probably be about it. I think Bruins fans expect more than Celtics fan, when in fact the Celtics will prob have a higher winning %, in my opinion.

The problem for the Bruins players you mentioned is that their defense isn't at an elite defensive level. They need to make an acquisition, or someone on their team needs to get better. Chara needs to step it up for one more run.

I'm certainly no defeatist, but I'm def. more optimistic about the Celtics than the Bruins.

My expectations for the Bs are low. Chara seems to have lost a step with age, Rask was inconsistent last season, and the Bruins never seem to have enough true weapons on offense.

The Celtics definitely should go farther than the Bruins.

Still somewhat early, but I've been fairly impressed by the Bruins. Even in the OT Loss yesterday.. they still managed to pick up a point against a fierce Washington team, and as of now are in the playoffs.

You wouldn't see them pull out many points last season (usually blowout losses to great teams).

What the hell is a Bye Week in the NHL?  The league knows they have time between games, right?

Another March Collapse and Rask not playing in a crucial game...  ::)

Not Cassidy's fault at all but Sweeney and co. need to GO.

This 4-game skid is unfortunate, though I don't know if that's more on the D, Rask, or the offense. I hope they can turn it around, but I still don't think they're anything more than a second-round team.

Yeah true. It's mostly inconsistency.

I'd call it a combination of all the things as a result.

Besides Marchand and Pasta, no one can really score at will, and so when those two struggle the B's are lucky to get 1 or 2 goals a game.

The defense isn't helping and has always been a weakness, but Rask has also let in a lot of cheap goals lately which aren't helping, especially when they are after the B's score (aka losing momentum as a result).

If I'm not mistaken I think I read somewhere Rask has a .888 save percentage since February 1. That's not really good though part of it is probably because of the lack of help in front of him (abysmal defense).

Bruins may have just shot themselves in the foot... again...

Maple Leafs up 1-0 against Columbus. If result holds, BOS plays WAS first round.  :(

Yes, BOS were horrible against both OTT and WAS this season, but WAS is the "cream of the conference", and it would have been better to play Ottawa first round to have any chance.

And Bruins looked bad against WAS yesterday.

Now time to look at those BS losses recently and ponder what could have been.
