There are seven players who began the 2012-13 campaign with at least a six-figure sum of their not-fully-guaranteed contracts for the season locked in no matter what happened.
Milwaukee's Samuel Dalembert ($1.5 million of $6,698,565 guaranteed) is one of them.
Samuel Dalembert has not played for a while for the Bucks. Do you think there's a change the Bucks waive Samuel Dalembert to save money so we can pick him up?

This would be amazing

Wow, yeah, that makes it much more likely they waive Dalembert.
I forgot Houston gave him a partially guaranteed 2nd year.
-
This would be fantastic. We'd just release Varnado and POOF we have a good backup center without giving up any of our young talent.
-
Players whose contracts aren't yet fully guaranteed, furthermore, actually only have to make it to Monday at 5 p.m. ET. Teams that choose to release players before the Jan. 10 guarantee date have to waive them by Jan. 7 to ensure they clear waivers in time.
Let's hope the waive him!

You would think somebody else would grab him off the waiver before he reached Boston but yea that would be pretty **** sweet

To claim him off waivers, the team would have to assume his entire salary. That's unlikely.

Are we sure that Dalembert's contract hasn't already vested for this season?
A lot of non-guaranteed contracts become fully guaranteed by a date certain, often by the first day of the regular season, or even earlier.

According to HoopsWorld, Dalembert had to be bought out by July 8th to invoke the $1.5 million option.

Ahh did not know that, that's good news. Either way I don't see how he's not included in a deal. A solid back up center who's on an expiring contract? He should be pretty easy to squeeze into a deal

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that he is waived and the C's can find a way to snag him.
he would be a HUGE upgrade over collins...heres his stats from last year
7.5PPG 7.0RPG, 1.7BLG in 22minutes of floor time.
he's been my target for awhile IMO...because he can provide what we need without giving up our young talent like Melo/Bradley/Sullinger

heck, i'd rather the celtics dropped collins. at least varnado has some possible upside to his career.

I figure if he gets bought out he will be on his way to south beach to join judas, Lewis, and the other ring chasers

he wont find any playing time down there...heck, joel anthony can barely find playing time.. I expect the C's will try and sell him on playing time.

Riley will turn on the charm just to keep him away from us like he did with judas.

Ah, well that puts an end to that. No reason to buy out a player that you can trade.
