I'm going to be rooting for the Heat as my "2nd team" next year.

I admire 3 young "superstars" being able to give up and make sacrifices to play together so early on in their careers.

It shouldn't really have taken our Big 3 to realize you can't win alone.

As much as the way the Heat came together bothers me to the core...as a basketball fan I am infinitely curious how they will make this work. I will tune into every national game they have this year. Should be exciting.

Look, I constantly argue against all the folks that say athletes are spoiled, thuggish, self-absorbed, over-paid, etc., etc.  I am all for athletes having decent rights vs owners.  The way the NFL treats players like slabs of meat is a disgrace.  But this goes way beyond that.  This feels like cheating, and worse, it is the very best players doing the cheating.  Also, what this guy just did to cleveland, the hour-long special, horrible.  

My hope is that they lose.  I will gladly cheer for the lakers if that is what it takes.  I have even reconfigured my hopes for next season - even if we can't win a title, please, please, just beat these, awful, scheming, pathetic, little babies (cleans as I could make, Jeff).

This goes way beyond the normal rivalry/hatred thing.  We now have real cause, not just the jersey color, or even the legitimate revulsion for mamba-kobe.  These guys just hijacked the league, the competition itself.  Or at least they tried to and they think they did.  I still think us and the lakers and orlando will have to be contended with, and now I almost don't care who beats them so long as somebody beats them and beats them good.
