Spurs need to mix things up and so do we, so who says no to this on December 15:

BOS In: Dejounte Murray, Doug McDermott, Thad Young
SAS In: Jaylen Brown, Dennis Schröder, BOS TPE (Young for TPE, giving the Spurs space next year to re-sign Schröder)

Easy to argue we are much better worse with this lineup, and D. Murray would be well positioned to be the accepting beta to Tatum’s alpha (sorry, JB, but there can only be one alpha on this team, but you can become Pops’ new alpha):

Murray/Pritchard
Smart/Richardson/Langford
Tatum/McDermott/Nesmith
Young/G. Williams/Hernangomez/Parker
Horford/Timelord/Kanter/Fernando

The obvious next move would be to cut Fernando, or move Richardson and/or Hernangomez for a guard fire any fool who thought this was worth any consideration. Revisit the idea of TPE/pick for Markannen. Would love to see us bring back Horford and go into the off-season with our 2022 1st, 2022 2nd, room for a MLE, and the following:

Murray/Pritchard
Smart/Langford/Begarin
Tatum/Nesmith
Markannen/McDermott/G. Williams
Horford/Timelord
Fixed it for you.  your goal must be to make this into an absolutely abysmal team with no hope for the future

I would argue Dejounte is better than Jaylen next to Tatum. In isolation, Brown is better than Dejounte. This move makes both teams better.

We’ve been absolutely mediocre with JT/JB ever since Hayward left. This mediocrity cannot continue. It’s beyond obvious that JT/JB have no chemistry.

Greally?

We’re 20 games into the season and our record says who we are: 10th in the East at 10-10…
our record says we need better players or more specifically, we need our players to play up to what they're capable of as well as stay healthy to get on the court.

your moves are massive steps in the wrong direction.  Murray was not impressive in that last game.  sure, hits some buckets at the end but if the C's handle their business to start the game, he's a non-factor.  Murray isn't an all-star talent and would be the 3rd best player in the deal after Brown and Schroder (DS's play this year has been big for the C's, I don't see Murray providing what DS has provided).

You do realize we lost the game and Murray had 29 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals, right? And that’s not unusual for him to do these days?

Stating Schröder is better than Murray is 🤯 outside of Celtics Blog, am not even convinced there’s consensus that Brown is better than Dejounte, and doubt anybody outside this blog believes Schröder to be better….

This is a terrible trade for Boston. Indefensible really
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

for this team DS has worked out pretty well.  I don't see Murray providing what DS has provided.  I don't care what a player posts in a game against us since we seem to let a good or bad player post a big box score against us regardless of whether we win or not. Murray was the recipient of that 'award' in that game.  thinking Murray can replace what Jaylen and DS bring to the team is sheer Greenly lunacy

BOS In: Kyrie Irving
BKN In: Al Horford, Dennis Schröder

Back to the Big 3 that could have been, sans AD, but a huge chip on Kyrie’s shoulder:

Irving/Pritchard
Smart/Richardson/Langford
Brown/Nesmith/Hernangomez
Tatum/Williams/Parker
Timelord/Kanter/Fernando

Hah. Hah.

So you mean to say our starting 5 would be;

Pritchard
Smart
Brown
Tatum
Timelord

Why not make it a 3-way:

BOS:  Simmons
PHI:   Kyrie
BKN:  Horford, Schroder

Kyrie might actually play for Philly.

As long as he feels like it, anyway. If the moon goes into mercury retrograde, though….

Maybe they would, the whole thing is far fetched.  But if Brooklyn was willing  to trade their head case for two for sure useful players maybe that is better than Simmons who may or may not do anything this season.  If Brooklyn could get Horford and Schroder for Kyrie, they probably win the championship.  With Simmons, who knows what you get.

For us, I am just saying that no way would we trade for Kyrie.  Maybe we trade for Simmons though, a risk the Celtics are more likely to take than the Nets.  And if Kyrie actually played, he would be perfect for the Sixers.
