Reading up on this Gruden stuff, I think it's terrible that while the NFL was investigating the Washington Football Team, their ownership and their management for their working environment and handling of such things as racial, sexist and homophobic language and actions in the work place, the only guy they are tossing under the bus for such things is ESPN analyst, Jon Gruden, who never worked for the WFT.

The NFL has steadfastly refused to release any other emails to the public or the NFLPA that may incriminate others in the WFT ownership or management.

If this was Bill Belichick then the whole Patriots organization would be suspended for one year of NFL season and Belichick would be banned from participating in any NFL-related things lol

Here you go.

Quote
Lawyers representing the Washington Football Team offered a financial settlement earlier this year in exchange for the silence of female former team employees who allege they endured sexual harassment while working there, according to two former employees.

No specific figure was discussed, but the offer was expected to be “disrespectfully low,” said Emily Applegate, a former marketing coordinator who was the first to publicly speak out about her experiences while working with the team last year in a Washington Post report. The offer was conveyed by attorneys representing the team at Reed Smith law firm, through discussions with Lisa Banks, the lead attorney for former female team employees.

Banks, who represents nearly 40 former team employees, told Applegate and the others that, in exchange for the money, they would have to sign nondisclosure agreements and agree to stop doing news interviews and posting on social media about their experiences while working for the team.

Quote
Banks, in an interview, declined to comment on the negotiations she had with the team’s attorneys. She did not dispute Applegate’s description of the offer, which was supported by Megan Imbert, a former producer in the team’s broadcast department.

“They were upset about our social media presence and press,” said Imbert, summarizing the message she said was conveyed by Banks. “We turned it down because we see the bigger picture, and we have always been after meaningful change, both within the organization and across the league.”

Quote
The settlement offer was made in February, Applegate and Imbert said, during a lull in activity in the NFL’s investigation of allegations of pervasive sexual harassment and mistreatment of female team employees during Snyder’s tenure as owner. Imbert and Applegate both viewed the offer as an attempt by the team to ensure their silence and minimize the fallout when the NFL’s investigation, overseen by attorney Beth Wilkinson, concluded and its findings were publicly announced. The offer would not have blocked them from speaking to investigators, the women said.

“It just felt like they wanted to bury this and shut us up,” said Imbert.

What the women didn’t know at the time is that no findings from Wilkinson’s investigation would be released publicly by her or the NFL, including what she concluded about Snyder’s role in the culture described by employees, or about allegations raised regarding his own conduct, including an alleged incident on his private plane in 2009 that resulted in a $1.6 million settlement with a former female team employee.

NFL and Goodall are unreal. Go to court and spend millions and millions fighting for their right to suspend a player that most likely had nothing to do with a couple balls being slightly deflated. But then try to low-ball settlement offers to women who had to deal with awful working conditions, including sexual harassment, because they want to protect a scumbag owner, rather than trying to do the right thing, make it all public, side with the ladies and purge the NFL of one of their biggest scumbag owners. Unbelievable.

If it was indeed the NFL who gave the NY Times those emails, you have to wonder why they did it at all. Because they have known about the Gruden emails for ages and likely have tons more dirt on Snyder and many others. It is crazy that we are talking about Gruden and photos of naked Washington cheerleaders and nobody from Washington has been punished.

So why throw Gruden under the bus now and no-one else? Is this a power play by Goodell to punish someone who relentlessly belittled him? Does he have beef with a defiant Mark Davis and the Raiders? They must think we are completely stupid, because there is clearly more to this story and it all this makes the league look like massive hypocrites.

Don't forget, they wanted Brady to hand over his phone to the NFL. Brady refused and thus suspended him 4 games for the suspicion of deflating those footballs! I mean, anybody can deflate those sorry-- Colts and that shameful run D that night lol. But all was well after that suspension, won the Superbowl and had a nice ring to it.

Brady after 1 quarter:

11 for 12...121 yards...two TDs.

They flashed a stat that Brady in his 40's has thrown more TDs in less games played than he did in his 20's.

It's unreal he is doing this at 44years old. If he keeps this pace he will be the 1st QB to throw for over 6000 yards in a season and will break his personal record of 50 TDs thrown. He would also be the only player to throw for 50 or more TDs twice.

Enjoy people. We will never see this ever again.

Could Tom Brady be in race for MVP with Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen?

I don’t see how he wouldn’t be. Most TD passes, most passing yards, and a higher passer rating than any of those guys.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Eagles benefitted from a 50-yard PI call and got the go-ahead TD on 4th and 3.

28-14 Bucs. Could be a game again.

I believe the correct phrasing is: Could Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen be in the race for MVP with Tom Brady?

Answer: Maybe

It's getting a bit ridiculous now. He's at the stage where his brilliance is sort of just taking the mickey out of everyone else. Remember how quickly Peyton & Drew Brees declined?

Brady seems pretty clearly to be the front runner for MVP, but don't discount Dak.  Cowboys have a super easy schedule, so Dak is going to rack up the W's.

And Lamar is currently 5th in passing yards and 8th in rushing yards and the Ravens are also 4-1 (so winning).  Huge game for the Ravens this weekend as they play the Chargers.  So Herbert or Jackson could make a statement
