Pats defense is awful. Wow..
I thought the Pats defense was good.  I've been told that all season by people on here.

The Pats are a bad team right now. I know the O-line is banged up, but Harris can't hang onto the ball and they have no deep passing game. The D had been good the first 4 weeks, but today they're getting burned by a kid I've never heard of. Gonna be a long season.

Wow the Texans are just horribly coached. They've had to use three timeouts on fourth down because they couldn't get their plays set. Got cute on a punt and ended up getting it blocked. Tried a 56 yard field goal. I mean what?

Much maligned defense, at least here today, has come to play in the 2nd half and now it's tie game

Now let's hope the defense continues to shut down the Texans for the rest of the game

Of course, some questionable coaching and terrible special teams play for Houston has helped make the Pats look better than maybe they are playing.

Pats need wins badly, so today's end result was good, but it was VERY ugly. Defense got burned a few times by a no-name QB, Harris fumbled again, the Pats offensive "plan" is quite myopic (looking at you, McDaniels), and they still end up with too many FGs. Jones is still doing pretty well, but they have almost no run game and not much more in the passing game, though Jones seems to have a good connection with Henry.

Lots of growing left for this team.

Glad they won, but that was a brutal game to watch. I expect the offense to struggle with a rookie QB and a lot of new receivers, but the defense looked atrocious for the majority of the game, minus Judon. Almost lost to the Texans, yikes.

It was a good win. Pats were missing 4 starting offensive lineman. Their best all around RB is out for the year. Their starting RB has a fumbling problem and left the game with possible rib injuries. Their offensive coordinator is limited due to lack of offensive lineman and not having the full playbook available because they have a rookie QB to manage and protect.

Defense started terrible but became excellent over the last 25 minutes of the game. We all know that Belichick's teams can start slow and gets progressively better as the year goes on.

I was encouraged by what I saw in that 2nd half.

Would've been like 3 straight losses to the Texans in NRG Stadium.

I've been saying that all season.  The Pats are calling very conservative offensive games and playing not to lose rather than to win.  It has cost them a couple of games this year and apparently nearly cost them this one (I did not see today's game so I have no idea how it actually went).

They at least ran the ball today indicating they do know what a running back is.
