KUNGPOWECHICKEN you are so right, GG threads will never die.  Yes, the kid has a lot of potential, but to be honest he is just dumb, he will never get it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
To think, this kid was drafted one slot behind Danny Granger.

Actually their talents seem to coincide a lot. Both are great atheletes, great shooters, (are in Danny's case, should be in G-squared's) decent rebounders..

Just one has that "thing" and one doesnt.

I'd take a flier on him next summer

Imagine if we picked up Granger instead of Gerald?  That would have been unfair getting him and Al at #15 in consecutive years.

Not to stay off the topic too much, but what if we traded Pierce that year for Chris Paul?  Maybe we would have drafted Roy the next year at the 7 spot since we would have needed a two guard(no Pierce).  Paul, Roy, Granger, Big Al, Perk.  And the next year Portland would have been out of the lottery (they would have gotten Pierce in the Chris Paul trade) and wouldn't have gotten Oden.  Could the C's have snuck in to the #1 and had Oden?  Plus have Raef and Wally's expiring contracts.  That team would be awesome and something like 37-9 right now ;)

Gerald's game leaves his athleticm pretty irrelevant.  He actually never gets to the rim and plays like a tall Steve Kerr on offense.  At least TA uses his gifts.
