No. Not even close. The difference defensively is massive.
This is where I'm at. Jokic is right there with Embiid for second.

And KAT is making massive improvements. Future of big men is bright

Embiid is the best big man.  Davis is second.

Embiid is a beast.

My biggest issue with him is that he takes 65% of his shots from beyond 3 feet and shoots about 33% from the field on those shots.

There's a strong argument to be made that Embiid would be a lot better if he focused on taking shots close to the basket and otherwise getting the ball to his teammates.'

He's a 7 foot behemoth who sinks 8.3 free throws a game and finishes 73.6% within 3 feet yet his True Shooting % is only 59.7%.

That's obviously very good (it's actually better than Jokic -- Jokic also takes too many shots beyond 16 feet, though within 16 feet he's cash).  But it could be way better.

Yeah Embiid clearly lacks the efficiency to be #1 and doesn't have the postseason success have a claim on AD there (even with better teammates) but I think if he had a better coach, he could change the narrative.

I like AD better, but you might be right.  Either way, it would be a fantastic rivalry to watch if we get AD.

Imo Jokic is the best big man in the league now

Not the quickest or most athletic, but high iq and has a huge body. Plus amazing at passing and underrated shooter

He is like an incarnation of Arvydas Sabonis

Considering he will lead his team to more wins than AD ever did, yes.

This, but it's very close. I would put Jokic tied for third with KAT. I think I would then go Gobert, Aldridge, Drummond, Capela, Vucevic, Nurkic to round out the top ten.

Guess what AD's true shooting % is ... 59.7%.  The same as Embiid's but Embiid does it on higher usage (32.2 vs. 28.7) and with significantly less assisted baskets (54.4 vs. 65.3).  Embiid's mid-range percentages and shot distribution are similar to AD's.

I'd take Al over most of them because he's better. Underrated.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Last season, Embiid didn't have a lot more talent on his team.  This season it wasn't that much more talent until the Harris trade right before the deadline.  Jrue Holiday is criminally underrated.  Embiid is also playing with a point guard who while talented can't shoot or run a half court offense.  Even with the talent, the Sixers are extremely dependent on Embiid both offensively and defensively.  When Embiid doesn't play, the Sixers are mediocre at best.
