Yeah agree they got lucky in 2015 with the Kyrie injury, and also CP3 going down last year

None of those injuries were as serious  though
Don't forget the Kawhi injury!

Hope Klay didn’t tear his ACL
I think he did sadly, looked like it could be a ACL tear based on how he landed and then they pulled the owner back as he left on crutches.

At the very least his knee failed the stability test and they're taking him to get imaged at a hospital.
It's always bad when the knee hyperextends inwards/outwards.
Yup when the femur slides over the knee is the classic "oh crap" sign this looked close enough to that....

The severity effects the future, but the injuries that took those all-nba players out were just as bad from a single series standpoint. Every year if you look a contender or two is hobbled by injuries during the year or in the playoffs. It sucks but it is part of basketball (and sports in general).

Exactly. If you want to discount this championship due to injury, you may as well dismiss them all

Happy for the Raptors. Outside of being Eastern rivals, they're a really likable team. But dang it's nice to see a non-Warriors/Lebron champion this year!

so no klay or kd just opened the door for Lebron to have his way in the west next year , no?

GS won a title with Love and Kyrie out so what comes around goes around. I can't stand GS so I love it.

Opened up for everyone.

Houston, Denver, Portland, and Utah with their current teams.

Clippers and Lakers if they add talent via FA/Trades...

Leonard has a case for being the best player in the world. Legendary Playoff run.

ESPN Sources: The Washington Wizards are preparing to make a prolific offer to Toronto's championship architect Masai Ujiri -- as much as $10M annually -- to run its basketball operations.

Wow.

On the bright side, if you play out these playoffs again 100 times, Philly probably wins the championship in 99 of them. They were easily the most talented team in the east and had a flukey series.

Happy for Toronto.  Hell of a story.

Yeah meant those injuries caused them to miss the rest of the series and some time, but long term they fully recovered before the next season

Durant’s could be career altering like the Rose playoff injury for example or grant Hill

Curry doesn't look so great without a stacked team, huh?

Any top tier pg can do what Curry does with that team. Kyrie & Dame seals that game. Curry 0-8 on go ahead shots in the playoffs if memory serves me.

The Curry hyped always bugged me, because I am saying to myself, who wouldn't look great on Golden State? We would have 2 rings if it were not for injuries, 3 if Curry did not run to grab KD. SMH..
