This is what I really dont understand about all this "trade Rondo for Chris Paul/ Deron Williams/ Russell Westbrook" talk. We have a great point guard in Rondo, yet 3 other positions that we have no replacement for, which will be vacant by next year. Thats glaring right us and Paul will follow Ray, KG, and JO only a couple years after.
We need to worry about filling those positions. Going after Eric Gordon and Javale McGee in free agency next offseason, and trading up in the draft to get one of these great looking wingmen in the draft.
If you guys were talking about trading rondo for young big men or fowards, I would get it, even though I still wouldnt trade Rondo, but youre not. So it makes no sense to me.

i think the nets are out of the running for d12 now because of the lopez injury. we have to hope that dwight will last until free agency then sign him.

then i think we can try and do a 3 team trade with the nets and someone else and try and get deron that way because he won't resign with the nets if dwight doesnt go there

id rather pass on westbrook though, not a big fan of his game.

The great thing about Rondo besides his talent is the affordability of his contract. Should allow us to pursue two other top talents or put together a real deep team. Either way is good.

So true. Westbrook and Williams will both want max money or something close next year.

deron williams would be an upgrade over rondo, but westbook would be a downgrade imo

agree 100% Williams at a max deal vx rondo is something to strongly consider but Westbrook is fun to watch, but not a player that I see winning anything or as a better fit than rondo

why are we still not satisfied with rondo? I know he has his ups and downs, he stuck with us, broke his elbow for us, and plays very hard.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

I love watching him play, but Rondo is not taking care of the basketball.

I wouldn't trade him for Westbrook, but I might entertain a Deron trade. He's a better scorer and I think would limit our TOs.

plus, NJ might be looking at getting something for Deron instead of losing him for nothing and they look dreadful.

after CP, Deron is about the only PG I would consider moving Rondo for.

Westbrook looks like a potential poster boy for buyer's remorse. Great value under rookie contract, but his flaws have more of an impact when he is a large % of your payroll.

On the other hand, I expect that Westbrook would outshine Rondo on a rebuilding team due to Westbrook's aggressive shooting style.

Westbrook wouldn't go well on this team. He seems to suffer from the Hero/look at me disease that is plaguing our league.
Signed to a 6 year $0 contract with the Celtics Blog forum!

I don't think I could trade Rondo. We'd have to run away with the deal for me to be happy about moving him.

Maybe it's me wearing the green goggles but still, I'd have to br blown away to be happy with moving him.

He's the type of player to build around.

Maybe we could try to take advantage of the Hornet's possible desire to shed salary for a buyer and offer Dooling, Bradley, and a 2 for Jarret Jack. If we need to throw in JuJuan Johnson maybe we could do that since we have Stiems now

Yeah. Westbrook is all about 'hero ball', which Doc is not a fan of.
