A Corey Maggette + Anthony Morrow trade package sounds very interesting to me.

No need to trade Ray to get them.
To get both of them? I think so.

Also, financially it makes things simpler next season.

How about this involving Ray and some others:

Boston gets:
Stoudemire
Nash

Phoenix gets:
Perkins
Rondo
BBD
Ray

Phoenix does this because they get a powerhouse young center in Perk and an all star quality  guard in Rondo who is also young. They also get some free cap space to add a player in the offseason to make them competitive for a good long time.

Boston does this because they get a vet star PG in Nash and a stud in Stoudemire. He replaces Perk right now, but KG shortly. We are set for a couple years  to find a replacement at PG which is a whole lot easier to do than to find someone like Stoudemire.

In the meantime this is our lineup:

Nash/House
Daniels/TA/Giddens
PP//TA/Scal/Walker
KG/Sheed/Williams
Stoudemire/Sheed/Williams

We would clear 2 spots on the roster and surely we could find a player or two to give depth where needed. That is a championship level team for two years at least. Then we build around Stoudemire.

still don't like it on this post instead of the PHX trade thread.  give up 3 starters and your 4th big (3 of which are still very young) for 2 players that don't play defense and have already peaked?  no thanks.

assuming they'd do it to dump maggette and not out of hope to keep ray after this season, it can certainly be done.

Wouldn't you prefer Raja Bell to Morrow? Pierce, Bell, Maggette and Daniels would be a nice wing rotation.

Then we build around Stoudemire.

Forgetting the present ramifications for the moment, the phrase "build around Stoudemire" tends to nauseate me.  Honestly, he interests me more as a rent-a-scorer for half a season than he does in the long term. Big man who doesn't guard anybody and has had responsibility issues in the past as a centerpiece going forward...even with all his offensive explosiveness (and there is plenty), I wouldn't be interested.

No, I would prefer Anthony Morrow. Morrow is a much better offensive player (15-16ppg threat in Boston's offense) and has is young enough to be a long term piece. Solid potential.

I also don't think Raja Bell has that large of a defensive advantage over Morrow. Slightly above average versus slightly below average. And I'm worried about Bell's health.

I don't think the Warriors will be willing to give up anything else with Maggette in a deal for the Celtics other expirings. Or any other team offering a similar package.

They might consider it for Ray Allen though. Not for good reasons. Just because he's Ray and he has a big reputation.

Then again, they might not part with Morrow even for Ray. Might have to include a first round draft pick which is fine with me. A first round pick would likely be enough on the other trade package too in that case.
