This is a very strange trade for both teams.
Hawks needed someone to run the offense when Young is off the court, not necessarily to win more games, but to have a guy who can run a competent offense so the young players like Hunter, Reddish, and Collins can develop in their roles and spots on the court.
Teague has been pretty bad for the Wolves this year. He's not a starting quality guard anymore. It's pretty obvious to me they are going to try to get another guard to run some offense, probably with Covington and/or Dieng. Crabbe and Okogie can eat up Covington's minutes. Paul, Lowry, Wall, Holliday, and (most likely) Russell are all probable guys they are looking at.
Warriors would probably do Covington, Dieng, and a protected first for Russell.
That leaves the Wolves with Russell-Culver-Wiggins-Crabbe-Towns as starters.
By my count, if the Warriors included Looney and Evans in that trade, they would get out of the tax this year, too. Then, they'd essential have a remixed version of their 73-win team next year, with Curry-Thompson-Covington-Green-WCS.
