Tonight who needs to make an impact for the Celts to win?

Obviously Ray has been off and on all playoffs, but even when he was on,(the 51 point game) the team didnt dominate.

Im going with Stef.  I believe tonight if he scores 8 and has 3 assists in his minutes, the Celts will definitely win.

I hope everyone plays at least average on offense but we really need to play great defense and move the ball.  Somebody is going to have a bad offensive game, but we can win if we do the other things.

I agree, but I also think its about time stef contributed.  And the way he was playing at the beginning of game one is exactly what we need.

We absolutely MUST improve our defense.  One way to ensure that is to get Dwight Howard in foul trouble, so we can better defend the 3pt line without worrying about DH inside.

Therefore my "impact player" proclamation for tonight is Paul Pierce.  On Fri night he started attacking the rim in the 4th quarter, and he drew 2 very important fouls on Howard (giving him his 5th).  He needs to do that again tonight, but not wait until the 4th quarter.  If he can draw 2 quick ones on Dwight in the 1st quarter, that would be HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGEE.

But he shot a poor percentage, and didn't begin attacking the rim, and drawing fouls, until the 4th quarter.  He needs to be just as aggressive from the tip off.

He hasnt been aggressive the whole series. Im pretty much thinking he is what he is right now and thats somebody thats going to shoot pull up threes and fade aways from the free throw line against the magic

I feel if Rondo is agressive from start to finish,he will dictate how this game will be played. He has the best chances of impacting this game/series.The team goes as Rondo goes,it seems.

  • There can only be one.
I agree with OP. I loved Steph's performance in Game 1 of this series and Game 3 of last series. Hopefully he steps it up and brings that hustle to this game.

I also think that Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Rondo, and Eddie House need to make a huge impact if they wanna win it today.

TP.

Boils down to this: If Rondo plays passively and without effort defensively, as he has in two of the three games, we will lose. If he's aggressive with the basketball off the dribble and tries to defend every possession, it's a big step toward a win.

I would say Rondo first but if all the players make an impact tonight, it would be better. :)

You've got your answer : obviously, Big Baby needed to make an impact, and he did! ;D
