With the CBA, signings and transactions, who can we trade outside the Big3? Specifically, can we (not saying we should unless a good deal is available) trade newly signed Jeff Green? Who else?

I would love to see to Big Al in Boston again, he´s an all star, this would be genial.

Big Al is very very player.

would be pretty sweet.
I think he would thrive next to KG.

Well, they have Wilcox, but I agree, they still need another NBA center for depth.  But, it is still very early, and the signing of Sasha has no bearing on signing another big man.  They needed a 5th wing for extra depth as well as the big man.

Assuming they do sign Moore, as has been reported (is that one official), then yes, 1 spot.  So, they use that on a center.  That gives them JO, KG, Wilcox, and whoever they sign, all of whom can play significant minutes at center if needed.

And all of those guys can also play PF, along with Johnson, Bass, and Green.

Does it take more than 1 roster space to sign one more player?

Are you kidding me ?  I ask whats next and the celtics respond with Sasha Pavlovic... Is this what it comes down to.  I was content with the roster at one point but with all these pipe dream rumors getting rejected... I NOW WANT MORE !!!

my fear is JO going down for a long period (like he has pretty much every season) and boston having no center to start...moving KG to the center spot primarily

I think the team would benefit from playing KG at center more, if they can find a good enough PF, so I don't worry about this as much.  I think minimizing the amount KG has to chase these perimeter PFs around, the better he will be.  He can handle the contact.  It's the chasing around the perimeter that wears him out.

But yeah, they need another NBA quality big man.  And I have a feeling that is what the MLE is being held for.

For those of us who had just gotten used to the idea of playing KG at the 5 and surrounding Rondo with shooters/scorers with the West rumors, I have a suggestion: sign Troy Murphy to the mini-MLE.

Roll with a PF trio of Murphy/Bass/JJ
A center rotation of KG/JO/Wilcox.

If Murphy can regain his shooting form (I don't see why he can't; he's only 31), he'd be interesting in a 20mpg starting role: sort of the perimeter version of Shaq.  Playing with Rondo and the starters, his shot would be very handy.

After the horrific season Murphy had last year, I like the chances of getting him on a 1 year/$3 mil deal.
