Celtics: Green

Warriors: Porzingis

———

Boston Celtics

White
Brown
Tatum
Green
Horford

———

Golden State Warriors

Curry
Thompson
Wiggins
Porzingis
Looney

Paul, Kuminga, Payton II, Moody

—————————

I know this trade wouldn’t happen for a multitude of reasons, most importantly because (I believe) the Celtics would have to do a sign & trade, which would hard cap them.

But if (in a vacuum) this trade did happen, would it benefit both parties?

IMO, Green going to the Celtics either goes terribly wrong, or ends up with another trip to the Finals.

I would think that GSW get worse with Porzingis rather than Draymond. I like Porzingis a lot more as a center than a PF. So he is not an ideal fit next to Looney. If you play Porzingis at the five, you have no quality option at PF.

Might be best off putting Wiggins at PF and playing run and gun basketball. Try to outscore teams which I imagine they could do very well.

I am a big Draymond fan but I am not sure he works as well with slashers like Tatum & Jaylen as he does with off-ball sharpshooters like Steph & Klay. I worry that Draymond's lack of shooting and negative floor spacing will impede the Jays more than it does the Splash Bros.

I love his fit on the team defensively but not offensively.

Draymond seems like an ideal fit to play with Porzingis rather than replace Porzingis. I doubt there is any workable deal to keep the Jays and Porzingis while getting Draymond though.

I imagine it would have to be some deal that sends Jaylen somewhere and brings back a combination of assets. Some sent to GSW. Some kept to replace Jaylen's spot in the team. A 3rd scorer type at SG who is more comfortable off-ball with Porzingis moving up to #2 option. That could be a fun option to bring better balance to this group.

You’re probably right.

The only reason I put Looney in there was for defensive & offensive rebounds, something Porzingis isn’t great at doing. But your idea of having Wiggins at power forward makes a lot more sense.

Thank you for your detailed response!

JaMychal Green?  ;D

Draymond Green has said he hated Boston fans and think they're distasteful, so he ain't walking through this door. I rather have Porzingis.
