It may be considered cheating, but the heart wants, what it wants.

I love Evan Mobley.

I liked him at college level
I now love him in the NBA

And it honestly breaks my heart watching him play for another team lol.

This guy WILL be a Hall-of-Famer.

The main concern I had with him was it may take him time acclimatising to the physicality of the NBA, given how light and lean he currently is, but even that doesn't seem to affect him.

The way he blocks shots is (incoming blasphemy) like a Bill Russell, in the thinking, that a block is only valuable if your team can get back possession.

Mobley seems like a Garnett/Duncan hybrid, by which I mean that he moves like a young Kevin Garnett, but his approach to the game and his demeanour is very reminiscent of Tim Duncan...team orientated, stoic and methodical.

Yes, I’d trade anybody we have for Mobley. That’s how big I am on him. He’s the 2021 version of Bill Russell in the making, sans the intangibles in all likelihood (Bill is one of a kind in that regard)

Agreed. After 12 games where he is averaging  15/2/8 on 51/24/80 shooting splits suddenly he is a future hall of famer and the 2021 version of Bill Russell.

That must be some potent sativa you guys are partaking of.

Never understood why coaches don't demand this of their shot-blocking defenders. I realize the modern player thinks it is more important to put an opponent's shot into the first row and then strut around like an idiot. But you would think the coaches would know better and understand that blocking a shot is only half the job and would teach and demand that blocked shots stay in play in order to gain possession and not just hand the ball back to your opponent with a little less time on the shot clock.

Rob Williams played fantastic tonight, looks like he’s really learning to control his fouls while maintaining intensity.

But in saying that I still am enamoured with Mobley.

Cavs starting five were all negative +/- ….except for Mobley he finished with +16.

I could go on but I’m sure I would just be upsetting people which is never my intention.

No question that Mobley is a stud.  Ease up on the Bill Russell comparison.

I think you’re misinterpreting my comments. I said he is similar to Russell…in his approach to blocking.

You can tell Mobley makes a concerted effort to block shots and retain the possession, not just send it into the fourth row.

The kid is even better than advertised. He's like a Chris Bosh/Webber hybrid. Just wait until he puts on 20 lbs of muscle.

I'm in love with someone else too: Cade Cunningham! His shot ain't falling yet, but imo it's only a matter of time. He was a terrific shooter at the college level. He's also hitting 88.9% of his FTs. More often than not, FT% is indicative of shooting potential. His passing game is starting to come into fruition averaging 7 assists and 2.5 t/o in the last couple of games. Not to mention, he's already leading his team in the clutch. Call me crazy, but I'd trade anybody on our roster for a package of Cade+Jerami+Saddiq. Never gonna happen, obviously. Just saying.
