Unless Grant is traded he will probably be used more at the 4. So that's Tatum, Parker, GW. Horford, TL, Kanter are the 5s.

I suspect Jabari Parker will be our back up 4 and occasionally starting 4 (when Tatum rests).
That's my suspicion too.

I really don't see a path forward for Grant Williams on this team, except as a situational player in a small-ball lineup.

Hey, why are so many people down on Fernando?  I admit I've only seen highlights, but he seems pretty mobile and strong.  Well if he goes, then at least I can stop humming Abba.

Parker, Tatum and Grant will share minutes at the 4. Al, Timelord and Kanter will play at the 5 with Kornet at spot minutes if we are keeping him

Kornet is gone now that Kanter is signed.

Inefficient outside shooting and lack of skill guarding the perimeter in this era limits Henson and Chriss to undersized Centers/Bigs. The Kanter signing completes our Center/Bigs rotation.

Millsap is a Center/Big as well (he was guarding Kanter in the playoffs), but he is efficient enough at the above qualities that teams will still play him at the 4. With Batum, Rudy Gay, PJ Tucker, and Jeff Green off the board it’s slim pickings in free agency. Millsap might be the best option, Justise Winslow is a last resort.

That said, my preference is to trade draft compensation for Joe Ingles, Kyle Anderson, or Larry Nance (in that order).

At this point, Nesmith is our best backup PF.

Parker and Grant Williams isn’t anything to call home about but in my opinion is perfectly fine as backup PF options, especially if you can also bring big-bodied wings like Langford and Nesmith off the bench.

Bill Simmons floated the idea of a Lauri Markanen sign and trade or mid season trade with Chicago. I think the Celtics are avoiding being hard capped so they can be opportunistic at the deadline but Markanen is not exactly a defensive presence.

I also think Markannen has to be a 5 to be successful, which he wouldn't be here. Would love to see him paired with someone like John Collins - would be offensive fireworks!

Jabari Parker

I think the C’s are done with the offseason. They’ll make the TT trade official and gear up for Summer League.

Sign Cheick Diallo to a minimum deal with a team option for Year 2. I’d far rather have him over Grant Williams.

I'm in the camp that wants to see what Jabari has left in the tank. I thought he gave the C's some good, physical minutes last year even though he was out of shape and everything was in disarray. If he shows up in shape and gets a chance to know his teammates and the playbook I think he could be a terrific spark off the bench.

I’m hoping the Parker works out as well, but I feel like the C’s should sign someone else as an insurance policy. Millsap would be perfect.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Why? He hasn't played in the NBA since mid-2020
