Says big-time Raptor fan in YouTube.  He wants 2 years 50 million.  Player option second year. Fournier out of the equation if we sign Lowry.  Two years 35 million for Fournier,  how much tax are we looking at at that point.

Horford
Tatum
Brown
Fournier  or Smart
Lowry

pretty serious contender

Lol

How do we offer Lowry 25 million a year? If we make a sign and trade, we'll become hard capped at the apron. I guess it could work if the Raps are interested in Horford. Thing is, can we trade Horford on his own from day 1? I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

One more question: Are double sign and trades a thing? Could we sign and trade Fournier for a signed-and-traded Lowry? We'd have to dump some serious salary though. Don't think it's a realistic scenario.

We sacrificed a huge chunk of the TPE for Fournier, plus 4 second-round picks. I have a hard time accepting we'll just let him walk.

Lowry is just what this team needs in a win now mode...we could get to the finals. Would have to be a Sign and Trade, but can we combine players to send to Raps?
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

We can flip Horford on his own immediately, the recently traded restriction is when it's in addition to other pieces. Not sure about the double sign-and-trade though. That would be crazy

Seems very unlikely. A lot of dominos have to fall into place.

Also saw where they might be targeting Reggie Bullock.  If they sign Reggie though, kiss Evan good bye.

Wouldn’t mind Lowry here but for how long & how much? Don’t want to overpay for a 35 year old PG
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I’ve always loved Reggie. Would be a good get, has been a solid 11/3/2 since 2017 on good efficiency. He’s certainly worse than Fournier though

On face value it would seem a natural. Signing a veteran PG with a ring and enough gravitas to call for the ball during times of ISO insanity. Obviously the Celtic braintrust are concerned about lack of playmaking and ball movement on this current roster.

Im just hoping with all these 35 and older signings missed games don't become an issue. Hopefully our younger stars are open to furthering their BBIQ.

Barring the money tightrope, It could be a good move.

Yes, although only the first year needs to be guaranteed.

I know we don't get anything with regrets but it could have been an easy 1 or 1+1 signing with only our full TPE and 16th. He would have been à great one year signing. But until un unprobable double ST we won't get him.

Kemba/Rozier and KD/Deangelo Russell are recent examples of double sign-and-trades. This one would be even easier than the Kemba/Rozier one because we wouldn't have to worry about Base Year Compensation.

But as Moranis/Roy noted, the deal he wants wouldn't really work in a sign and trade. It's a 3 year minimum (not including option years), with the first year needing to be fully guaranteed. A team acquiring him in a sign and trade could choose not to keep him for the last two years, but there's no mechanism where Lowry could force them to do so. He'd be locked up for up to 3 years at the acquiring team's discretion.
I'm bitter.

Any particular reason you think them interested Bullock means no Fournier? Bullock is a career journeyman. He’s not going to cost much. They could probably sign both if they wanted to bolster the bench.
