The last thing Boston needs is another rotation center, no reason to even kick the tires there. Nance as a big four is much more useful. Likely more expensive though.

If we dump Thompson than Favors could be very good here.  However I do agree Nance is the more seamless fit, can shoot thr three, move his feet on Defense.

For this roster? Nance no doubt. He's capable of defending 3-4 and some 5s, can shoot the three and can pass.

Favors is a centre at this point. He's been good without Gobert - in 2017-18 he averaged 15/9/2 when Gobert wasn't playing, and I think he could replicate this on a team where he played 30MPG as a centre. That team just isn't us
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Solid points G. Also that 11.5 million left on Gordos TE could come in handy in these trades

Nance can play the 4 better than Favors which is more of what we need with the post-Kemba trade

For sure. Before the Kemba trade I was praying we used our TPE + pick 16 for Nance. I would still love for us to trade for a power forward like Nance or Thad Young.

If we can flip TT, Timelord and draft assets into Nance/Young and Mason Plumlee I'd be ecstatic. Our rotation would then be (assuming we keep Fournier):
Smart / PP
Fournier / Nesmith
Brown / Nance
Tatum / Parker
Plumlee / Horford

I like Thad a lot. not sure how we'd get him away from Chi with our expendable assets but I've always liked his game

I feel like a lot depends on how they approach the Markannen situation, and whether they view Patrick Williams as a 3 or a 4

I doubt we get either but given a choice, it is Nance.  He has more room to grow is the better player and athlete.

You would also be fired by team owners for that trade.

I highly doubt the Celtics will part with any significant assets to attain a role player, that is a player who doesn’t clearly vault them into being a contender. Parting with even one draft pick is huge, because it means that not only that draft pick but any other pick in an adjacent year is no longer available to be traded per the Stepien rule. The Celtics’ draft picks and young players need to be saved for the next superstar that inevitably wants out from his current team. Little trades to make the team marginally better in the interim are not worth it and are counterproductive toward the ultimate goal.

I voted Nance as I've always liked his "glue-guy" game BUT...

Considering either of these players strikes me as just fixing up around the fringes.  I don't think either one moves the needle.  The talent in the league and especially in the Eastern Conference, is on the rise.  Watching the Finals and USA exhibition games is a bit depressing.  C's lack overall talent.

Brad needs to make a significant move for a top-10 player.  Not sure if this is possible without giving up Jaylen.
