There are some serious reports that management is aware of this and making plans
Chris Broussard voiced this on air.

  • GOT IT!!!
I could see him signing another 1+1 if GS 3peats but I think the C’s will give him that out he wants.  8)

So, this has been discussed all summer.  Glad to see that Broussard is finally reporting it.  Good job, Mr. expert!

I'd offer Kyrie + a seasoned  psychologist + $20 million cash.

Edit: a team of highly seasoned psychologists + $80 million cash.

If GS wins the title then It will be tough for Durant to leave (unless there is a money problem in GS).

The repeat championship thing is something you keep riding.

If they lose the title (most likely not fully healthy or something like that),
then he should make that his moment to get out of there.

Why?

Because he is still in the doghouse as a bandwagoner earning championships the easy way.  He needs to go to a team that hasn't been able to win it but is close (Celtics?  Houston?)  He shouldn't go to LA if he cares about his legacy (unless Lebron has a physical problem that limits him...joining a still vital Lebron is another bandwagon move).

Legacy wise best moves:

1. back to Ok. City (won't happen) with George and Westbrook
2. Celtics (won't happen unless big trade makes it possible (highly doubtful)
3. Houston (instant favorites)
4. Jazz (favorites if they can afford him...unless facing healthy Lebron/Kawai tandem in LA)
5. Philly (favorites)
6. Indiana (contenders)
7. Milwaukee (contenders)
8. ??

If Durant leaves, any team he joins becomes an instant contender. He's a top 3-4 player right now so he'd be a HUGE upgrade to any team. I didn't see Washington listed up above but they've been mentioned in the past, with KD being from that area and having a very good back-court. I think he goes there before he goes to a Utah or Indy.

His NBA legacy will soon be cemented in stone...he's not going anywhere. He had a chance to create his own thing, and he took a pass.

Only certain players want to develop their own thing without "sure thing players in place."
