  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
Dunleavy is gonna love his shot selection.

Ricky Davis for $2.5m a year is a bargain.  As far as his shot selection goes, he did shoot 40.5% from three last season, and if you look at his shot chart, he only has two weak spots on the floor - midrange baseline on both sides.  Oddly, he's most effective shooting the three from the corners, 38-83, 45.7%.

Too bad he has such a lousy rep (which is deserved).  That kind of player would have been perfect for the Cs bench.

One more case of falling in love with the player after he leaves.  I don't remember who wrote the post a few weeks back talking about trading for every Celtic who had left in the last 5 years, but he was on the money.

Clippers making the playoffs :D :D ;D.   Sorry not happening.  Go back to the archives and read some of the old clippings of Doc talking about Davis.  He was a handful then and no doubt now.

OH Mike Dunleavy is going to earn his money this year.  Ricky is a good defender for a quarter maybe a half.  2nd half offense he's either dumb or lloyd b free without the great shot
Watch Portland, watch clips if you want to see lots of points given up.
no thanks to him over tony, tony is all mental, when he doesn't think and get in a groove he looks like a great young player
ricky has been to enough teams now that it can't be a team giving him a bad rap, its his rap

On paper, Miami would have been much better last year if Davis' talent translated into wins. Unfortunately, it rarely does.

However, he could be an effective 6th man. I see him and Tim Thomas coming off the bench next year.
