Multi-faceted Nets forward Jeff Green has helped Brooklyn’s suddenly thinned-out front court following the trade that brought in All-Star James Harden, according to Greg Joyce of The New York Post. “It helps when you get Kevin [Durant] and Kyrie [Irving] and James on your team,” Green said. “A lot of attention is going to be on those guys, so I want to do my part in being ready to shoot. It just comes with repetition, the work that I’m putting in to make sure I’m prepared for those times where they are swinging the ball my way and I’m able to shoot.”

Green is averaging 12.1 PPG and 4.7 rebounds in 32.9 MPG since the deal.

whenever he plays for the Celtics he sucks

Then when he’s on an opposing team, he drops 20 pts against the Celtics in an elimination playoff game 7

I'm happy for the guy. As I recall he missed a lot of time with a heart problem.

Glad he's recovered. more power to him.

Haven't we seen the Green hot streak mid season before?

Green has always been a good bench/role player.  He's the same guy he was 8 years ago.  He can help a lot of teams.

Green was destined to be a good vet roll player on a team with championship aspirations.  His skill set, size and length, not to mention his vet mind set, fit that roll very well IMO.  We could use a 6'9" long armed vet who hits 3s, and gives great effort on both ends in short stints off the bench right now.  He'd be a better fit for our roster than the blogger favs for the TPE like Aaron Gordon and Harrison Barnes.  Not to mention that Green's contract is probably a bargain at this point.

Great effort and Jeff Green do not belong in the same sentence.

Saying that he hits 3s is a bit far fetched considering his carrier 3p% is in par with Smart's. His current % is an abnormality

taken with a grain of salt per36 he is as good as Semi ......

I don’t really drink but I had a celebratory one when Jeff Green was no longer on the team. It was tiring watching a guy like that never improve and just disappear and have such little impact on at least every other game. One of my least favorite Celtics ever. Give me the less talented mad dog players every time.

Meh on all those. Give me crowder. See what happened to Miami bench when crowder left

Jeff Green has been a perfectly fine role player for a long time.  That hasn't really changed, ever.  He's had stretches where he plays really well, mostly when his outside shot is falling more.  But he's always pretty much been the same guy.

I'd do the Perkins trade 99/100 times.

Still Green is someone who makes a 3p in his carrier  in lower rate than the league average. That is not the player you bring from the bench to make some long range shots

To be fair he has hit 35.8% of his threes on 3.9 attempts per game from 2018-2019 onwards, it's not great but you really don't want to leave him open in the half court considering that you get ~0.95 points per halfcourt possession on average.
