Cool little video of these two talking. Thought some here might enjoy.

Grant seems to soak this kind of thing up.

He has quite a ways to go to carry that torch like Cowens did.

I'd be happy with a half-Cowens career!

Grant is having a great year.

His defense is super reliable, only remember him being benched for getting outmatched once. Forget who.

Hope he is ready for playoff basketball. Gonna need him.

Agree but Cowens averaged 17 PPG and 15 PPG as a rookie is what I meant

I was in HS when Auerbach drafted Cowens. We were grumbling because Cowens was "small." Of course, he had some crazy big shoes to fill...didn't he?

I've posted some of this before:

(Wiki)He scored 1,479 points in 78 games at Florida State, at 19.0 points per game, and ranks among Florida State's top 10 all-time scoring leaders.

He is the all-time Florida State leading rebounder with 1,340 rebounds (17.2 rebounds per game). He holds the team record for best seasonal rebound average (17.5 in the 1968–1969 season). He once grabbed 31 rebounds (second best all-time) against LSU in the 1968–69 season.
(end)

50 years later, Dave Cowens is still the all time leading rebounder at Florida State. He wanted the ball more than his opponent and his opponent knew it.

Grant couldn't be more different a player, but, I think he has a chance at being a "top 6th man" in the NBA. I love his game.

It would have been great if Pierce was paired with Tatum.

Seriously, what nice respectful kid.

After missing those 25 threes in a row, I wasn't sure what we were getting. But in the last 10 or so games his roll, and skill-set has become clear. When Grant matures he's going to be a load.

Cowens took some time off to drive a taxi - We'll see if G Will decides to drive for Uber or Lyft. ;D

Big task for him. All our likely obstacles in the playoffs (Indiana, Miami, Philadelphia, Toronto, Milwaukee, LA Lakers, LA Clippers) have bigs who can cause serious problems.

Its upto Grant to stop or slowdown guys like Sabonis, Adebayo, Horford, Embiid, Ibaka, Antetokounmpo, Davis or Harrell.

So does this mean that Gordon Hayward is the new Bailey Howell?
