Griffin was an all-star level player 4 years ago. Then he had knee problems that left him in a state where he couldn't even dunk during game action for quite some time. It seemed to me that his conditioning gradually improved through last year to the point where, while he was no longer an athletic big, but he got back some of that mobility, and could compete physically. He finally started dunking again later in the year.
A small improvement in his conditioning would be a big deal here. He's hasn't put on many miles in the last 4 years, and he plays with intelligence. He's never going to be a star again, he might surprise some people if he has applied himself to getting ready. With a bit of luck, it's possible he could be a useful rotation big.
