Jermaine Wiggins on ‘EEI says Jaylen wants out?!?!

Former Super Bowl XXXVI Champion with the New England Patriots Jermaine Wiggins, a regular on the Greg Hill Morning Show and the Gresh and Keefe mid-day show on sports radio WEEI in Boston, recently claimed that Jaylen Brown told him that he wants out of Beantown and being Jayson Tatum’s sidekick with the Boston Celtics.

Wiggins claimed that he saw Brown while in the Hamptons on Long Island and was personally given the idea from the player himself that No. 7 won’t re-sign with the franchise in the summer of 2024 when he is eligible to be an unrestricted free agent. Thus far, Brown has spent all six seasons with the Cs, spending all but one alongside Tatum

Is Wiggins credible on this? Is Jaylen just blowing off steam from the Finals frustration?

I wasn’t a fan of trading JB for Durant, given the very short window KD gives us and his softness of character shown by joining the Warriors. Plus I like JB a lot and don’t want to lose him….BUT…

We can’t lose him for nothing next year. We could gamble, and assume that the coming year could change JBs mind, but that’s a big risk.

I think I’m for trading him NOW, and don’t like that.

This feels made up.  Does Jermaine Wiggins regularly talk with Jaylen, who’s 20-something years younger?  Otherwise, Jaylen is so disgruntled that he randomly unloads to someone he has a passing acquaintance with, but knows is in the media?  Or unloads to someone he’s so unfamiliar with he doesn’t even know that he’s in the media?  It seems made up to me.

I’m not saying that this story has any credibility but I do get the feeling that Jaylen does not like the scrutiny that comes with being a Boston Celtic. Expectations are real high here, and the fans and the media are known to be brutal. Before the teams turn around, his name was coming up a lot in trade rumors amongst fans for like two years, and I think that really got to him.

But I love Jaylin and hope he sticks it out in Boston and puts banner 18 and number 7 up in the rafters.

The article on Hardwood Houdini is from yesterday and no credible websites mentioned this story today including WEEI, the sports radio station that employs Wiggy. Until I see this being said on a legitimate site or news outlet, I’m not putting any stock into it.

I wasted my time listening to 10 minutes of the broadcast, and Wiggins was very circumspect about what Brown allegedly said, in a way that made me doubt what little credibility I initially gave this to listen to it in the first place.
