This was mentioned during the TV broadcast tonight. Friday's win over the Magic put the Celtics all-time total wins at 3249, just 2 behind the Lakers. Any step past the Lakers in historical context makes me happy.

It's not impossible that we'll be tied with them when we play each other next Friday. I'm actually hoping that happens, because it'd be cool for that to be decided head-to-head.

I was thinking it was close again but have not checked , TP ....for doing the work.
It's always a great stat to own .....and use against the TANKER teams .....and always the Lakers

Best rivalry in big 4 American sports? As much as it pains me, Red Sox-Yankees rivalry is nowhere near as close.

We are now tied back up with the Lakers at 3,251 total franchise wins! With the way things are going, we should be able to gain a lot of ground in the next few years, and hopefully put some distance in championships as well.

Given the "Los Angeles Lakers" did not become such until 1960, the chart is wrong, and should be corrected to read the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers.

They won yesterday. I don't know if that put them back in the lead or just a tie.
EDIT: Basketball Reference shows them up by 1, not including tonight. So we're tied now, and if the Lakers don't win tomorrow, we can retake the lead in a head-to-head matchup. Which is great!
