Possibly 8 more games and potential play-in game(s).

9th seed will have to remain within 4 games and then defeat the Grizzlies 2x in a row.

8. Grizzlies (32-33)
Trailblazers (29-37)
Pelicans (28-36)
Kings (28-36)
Spurs (27-36)

Also, Orlando (30-35) and Brooklyn (30-34) are currently the #15 and #16 picks.

Is this true or just rumors?

Edit: Memphis is the 8 seed. Don't want to confuse people.

This is what the league passed in a vote today.  There will be a double-elimination play-in game between teams 8 and 9 in each conference, assuming team 9 is within four games of team 8 at the conclusion of the restarted season.

So essentially, if their is a play-in game, the 9th seed has to beat the 8th seed twice while the 8th seed only has to beat the 9th seed once.

Interesting.  That definitely gives the current 8th seeds pretty strong odds of keeping their spot.  I do suspect there will be a play-in game in the west, but the east seems unlikely.

Any conversation as to how they seed for the draft?  Is it winning percentage or wins/loses?  the 22nd team could go 0-8 and fall below the win% of the 23rd team for sure.
Also effects that C's pick...

If anyone is going to catch the Grizz, by looking at their schedules, it's going to be the Pelicans and not Trail Blazers. But even that doesn't really matter unless the higher seed gets the "play in advantage". We shall see but our pick could jump to 14. Woo-Hoo! (that's mild sarcasm for those that don't get it sometimes)

And even also with a still good Dillon Brooks. More than individually they look to have lost a littl of their dynamic and their mojo...

Good news for us, if they continue sucking like that, they may fall behind NO and Portland... A 13th spot on the lottery would be great for us, allowing maybe to try to catch a biggest fish in the draft, Nesmith would be a great value for me aroubnd this spot.
We could continue to assemble our pieces for years to come, here a very good shooter with good size for a forward and work to progress on defense...

And if they catch the top 5 picks, our pick would be a great value next year to wait or to trade. With the concurence next year I see the Grizzs still on the 9-12 range in the west...

I thought this as well, then others on this Board said we can't do better than 14, as pre-bubble records kick in for lottery order determination, which kind of stinks.

Apparently this is the case. Which makes some sense I guess.

All of the teams will essentially have no reason to really compete against them, any other situation and that would be close to a lock for Griz going 0-8. Still hoping half trying by those teams get them 0-8.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

If the Grizz get the 8th seed but then lose the play-in series to 9, will they be in the lottery?
