Denver remind me of the Suns era Nash. The Suns would be a disorganized mess whenever Nash missed any games. Then Nash comes back and suddenly disorder becomes structure. I feel the same way when Jokic is the court vs off the court for Denver.

Oh man, Porter! That guy might have the prettiest shot in the league. I just love watching him shoot. That shot is pure beauty.

2nd silly foul by Hachimura on Jokic.

Edit: Ahh, nevermind. He didn't touch him. Hachimura hard done by.

Jamal Murray! Big shot. Nice little run by Denver to push the lead to 18 before halftime.

  • GOT IT!!!
Nuggets are setting a tone, I like that. LeBron coasts in the second half and they gun for Game 2. Denver needs to get that one too.

Flashbacks of Showtime Lakers 1980s offensive basketball only this time it is Denver and LAL is on the receiving end of things.

19/16/7 with 2 blocks for Jokic.

And it's halftime.

So much for that tough LAL D.

Always thought people were making a bit too much of this Lakers team. Think Denver is a full step ahead of them.

Enjoying watching this one at ball arena here in Denver. I think the overhyping of the lakers role players looks pretty bad right now. At a minimum can people promise to stop the Vanderbilt nonsense? He is out of their rotation l. He isn’t locking down curry or Murray or anyone else. Not even sure lakers bring him back at 5 million. Beasely is once again dnpcd Own it guys if you are gonna be ridiculous and hype the lakers

I'm picking Denver in 6

BUT I also feel Denver has to start this series 2-0. If LAL splits the first two, they have the advantage. LAL is 7-0 at home this postseason (including play-in game). Denver could take a game on the road, but I doubt they can take more than that. Of course, they can simply protect their HCA to win the series. Going up 2-0 would put a lot of pressure on the Lakers.

I don't think this is a "paper tiger" Nuggets team like previous years. Jokic has much better help and a better team around him than previous years. Murray's been awesome and Jokic has been playing like the true  best player in the postseason

Lakers were able to get the split in the first two games of their last two series. I think they'll be able to get the split here (Nuggets to lose Game 1), defend home-court and go up 3-1. Denver will be under pressure.

Tho the difference between 2020 bubble and this meeting is...they played at a neutral site. Now they're playing in Denver's actual home which is high altitude. Wonder how well LeBron and AD fare in this environment.

Lakers talent on that 2020 squad was alot better than this years also though. Anthony davis is bi-polar offensively and you are relying on austin reeves/schroder/Reaves to perform every night.
Rondo was the 3rd best player on that 2020 team. He'd be what 6th or 7th best on this one.  2020 had better size and a younger Lebron and Jokic is better today, so the result may be different, but this Lakers team absolutely has much better talent 3-10 than they did in 2020.

The 3-10 hype here is aging like milk in the desert. Woof
