Good. Better to be safe than sorry. We don’t need a super epidemic.

Yup.  I know LeBron objects to no-fan games, but I can't imagine that the NBA will wait much longer.

As it should, lives are at risk here.

My mother living in South Korea says there are a lot of elderly people hospitalized with Coronavirus, (she lives near Daegu, where the first sighting occurred,) and while Korea has done extremely well, it is really hard to pinpoint carriers.

yeah I’m getting tired of younger people saying “it’s just a flu!”

It has a higher mortality rate than any flu. And without any cure or vaccine it is troublesome

"The NBA's exploring ways to allow the league to continue playing and televising games during the coronavirus crisis, even with it increasingly likely that'll be done in empty arenas."

My friend made that argument to me, about how it's just a simple flu, and then I asked him, "if your grandmother got the virus, would you still be saying the same **** ?"

I noticed the opposite with older people making those types of comments.  I also noticed it made a difference where they were getting their news or supporting for president (based on their comments, hats they were wearing or bumper stickers on their vehicles)

It's because for someone people, if something is beyond their understanding, it warrants extreme skepticism. Which is directed more towards gymnastics in creating reasons and generating suspicion against the problem and those who publicize it - that they could instead usefully apply to research and contextualizing the issue they think is being overblown.

So, one athlete in a game has it and the entire teams/coaches of both will get it. Sweat will be a nice conduit as will hand checking, etc....It is a matter of time I am sure.

I gotta admit that I'm a little worried that this might interrupt, delay, or cause us to miss out on the NBA playoffs in a season in which I have been greatly anticipating the playoffs with no clear juggernaut like GS or the Lebron Heat, and with a great Celtics team too. The playoffs this year have been shaping up to be very exciting, it would really suck to miss out on them

I sure as heck don't want Tommy or Mike to get it.   Tommy, with his recent health issues is probably in the 'vulnerable population' category.

So they officially have my permission to call the games from the comfort of my couch, watching on my big screen, safely away from crowds!

I'll provide popcorn and snacks!
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

While I feel the same, I'm okay with this.

Lives are at stake here....

This is just basketball. I couldn't imagine someone like Tommy contracting the disease and dying from it.

Tommy wouldn't be the only guy associated with the team I would be worried about. Would hate to see Danny get sick.
