  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I'd trade him for about 6-7 guys in the league.
*Durant
*Bynum
*Lebron
*Wade
*Howard
*Zeebo
*Derrick Rose

Would any of those teams make that trade?
No way. So keep him and let him play for our bench for a few years on the cheap and help coach/develop our young new core starting next year.

Well if we kept him, he could come off the bench with Ray Allen.
Would be very nice to have those guys coming off the bench.

What kind of 'talent' are we really going to get in return for a 35 year old guy ?
Which teams would give us anything valuable?
To me, we'd never get back his true worth- both as a player and in the locker room as a presence and influence/attitude checker.

I think if we are doing poorly this could happen.  But it is only going to happen if a team wants cap relief.   KG is old and although he still can play he doesn't have marque value because of his age.

I would rather keep KG and have his $21 million off the books at the end of the season then resign him to a much more favorable 2 year deal.

If we could keep KG, Allen, Pierce and Rondo signed up until 2014 AND still have room for ONE max guy, couldn't that entice a Dwight Howard?

I think it's pretty clear that if the team is looking poor, to the point of a guarenteed early playoff exit, everyone is up for trade bait!

If prior to the March 15 trade deadline it is clear that the Celts are going nowhere, pretty much everyone will be on the table for trade, including KG. My guess, however, is that a guy like Ray will be much more in demand.

this, and then he should retire, I think.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I cannot imagine a KG trade that will bring back anyone of impact. I'd much prefer the cap space we'll get once he's off the book and I'd like him to retire a Celtic. Besides the FO seems to want the cap flexibility next offseason so I doubt they'll trade any of our expirings.

Plus Ray makes less than half as much money. A reasonable price for a hired gun for the playoffs

What team in the league would take KG, except to jettison a bunch of bad contracts?

Does he look like he has a lot of trade value to you?  A guy making 20 million this year?
