I'll go 1st  ;D

1: Sign "Marcus Williams" of the Grizzlies (I believe Danny tried this before letting Hudson go to sign with Memphis, but that Wallace punk didn't bite)

2: Tell Doc to Mix the YOUNG with the "OLD" (Play Bill Walker and J.R. Giddens more)

3: If had to do any trading it would have to involve Rondo, and Ray Allen. Tony Allen and Scalabrine only if the #'s needed to match. ;)

Ok, if you do no.1 you are making the same mistake that 2 other GM's have made. If this is the case, you should not be GM.

You do no.2 if you are GM of a d-league team, or dont really care about your employment.

No.3, you entertain all trade requests/options.  Trades should not be limited to any particular players.

As GM, i would have faith and trust with players that have been there before.  They are the reason why i am still employed.  If it becomes obvious that this group cannot get it done (when team is at full strength), trading then becomes the only option.

1) If Darko is released, I'd sign him just for his size and shot blocking

2) If Keyon Dooling is healthy, I'd trade TA & Shelden for Keyon. I wouldn't trade JR cause of his defense. And if Darko signs here, Shelden and his allergic hands can go.

3) A dream deal would be Kevin Martin for our junk.

1.  Don't make any dumb decisions based on knee-jerk reactions to tough games.  Everybody has a tough time with the back end of back-to-backs, it's not just us.  Tonight is not an indicator of "OMG!!!  WE NEED MOAR PG'Z!!!!1"  We have a couple - even with Marquis out - that are serviceable for 15 minutes a game.

2.  Shop around for a legitimate three - not 2's who can play the three if needed, like Marquis, TA, JR and Ray have all been used at times this year.  More specifically, we really need a wing who can shoot so we can space the floor for TA or Marquis at the backup point.  We have several expiring contracts who can be used to get a player who could be useful to us this year (and possibly into the future).

Other than that, I think I'd sit tight.  I like our big rotation when healthy, and I think a shooting wing would make things a lot easier for the offense of the second unit while simultaneously removing the need to play Ray or Paul more minutes with the bench players.

Keep in mind that no team is built to be a championship contender with it's two of its best players out.  Go down the line of contenders and remove two pieces from each of them:  take Gasol and Odom away from the Lakers, or Rashard and Pietrus away from Orlando.  Do any of these contenders still look like contenders now?  Of course not.  We're no different.  Like it or not, our hopes rest with an increasingly injury-prone PF, and no amount of maneuvering is going to change that fact.  We just have to hope he's healthy come May/June.

If I was GM I would:

1) Do like my guy Slugger, and try and trade TA and Shelden for Keyon Dooling.

2) I would sign Sean Williams, who was just recently waived.

3) I would  trade JR Giddens to Minn. for Sasha Pavlovic
                                            or
I would try to trade Scal and JR for Rasual Butler of the Clippers(but I doubt Clips would bite)

3 simple moves that would not completely destroy our roster, and 2 of the 3 would expire in the summer. (S. Williams and Sasha).
We get our PG in Keyon Dooling, Our wing in Sasha Pavlovic, and an Athletic Big in S Williams

Rondo/Dooling
Ray/House/Pavlovic
Pierce/Daniels/Walker
KG/Baby/Williams/Scal
Perk/Sheed

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Scal, Walker, Giddens, House

for

Jared Jeffries, Wilson Chandler

Scal and House presumably would be waived...well maybe not House, but NY could only keep 2 of the guys that we'd be trading them, at their roster sits at 15 players, and the other player they'll inevitably cut, Darko, won't be cut until after the Feb trade deadline, or maybe Robinson, but without House we'd take on Nate the great for sure.

We'd resign House, or both, whatever...but we'd get another versatile defender in Jefferies and a scoring 2,3,4 in Chandler.

Chandler's legs would really help out against athletic teams like Chicago, Atlanta, and Jefferies would find a spot too.

Walker (alas, poor billy. I knew him well.) and Giddens are contract casualties, but necessary ones.

Rondo/TA/Daniels
Ray/Chandler/Daniels
Pierce/Jefferies/Daniels
KG/BBD
Perkins/Wallace/Williams

I'd like to reserve a banner please. Party of Celtics. I know I made a reservation...I talked to Gerry on thursday.

Darko has said, on the verge of tears, that he is 100% done with the NBA. I know, I'm sad too. We'll get through it.

Darko is a good defender. If he gets the right coaching, Darko can be a defensive specialist. And don't forget he is a legit 7footer with 7' 5" wingspan.

Dont forget , Michael Olowakandi was a legit 7 footer and had an enormous wingspan also.
