Those guys also had won the MVP before 26 or during 26 year in case of Curry. They are a different class of player than Tatum. Comparing Tatum to them isnt fair to Tatum, who may not even be a top 5 player talent wise now or any point in his career.  Tatum is a great player, but he isn't an all time great player. The window to win for him is much smaller than the all time greats.

How is this relevant to appreciating JB or JT?

We should appreciate them for what they are and not put unrealistic expectations on them.  This team has vastly exceeded its talent every year, yet we keep seeing people say they are underachieving. That is nonsense. The team has overachieved basically every year.

JT was All-NBA first last year. JB was All-NBA second. They also have TWO All-Defense players in White and Holiday. KP is an elite big. Horford is proven.

There’s a reason they have been the favorites (betting and analytically) for like 3 seasons now. Were they favored over GSW in 2022? Yes.were they favored against Miami last year? Of course. And they’ve been the (sometimes overwhelming) favorites since the preseason this season.

Yep.  Brown > Harden or Maxey.

And, we underachieved against Philly, despite winning the series.  We had multiple blown leads, and lost Game 1 at home despite Embiid being out.

Harden was placed at 11 by espn in their annual rankings last year, Brown was 22.  Harden then led the league in apg at 10.7 while adding 6.1 rpg and 21 ppg with a 60.7 TS% (even added 1.2 spg). He did only play in 58 games and obviously Brown was a better defender.  Harden was still better than Brown last year, though the gap was closing and Brown did pass him up this year.
