With Kemba (seemingly) coming, it seems like we AGAIN have an extra scoring wing.  I talked to my buddy who is a huge OKC guy and friends with their sideline reporter and he says they are DESPERATELY trying to unload Adams.  For what it's worth(which is nothing really) my buddy said  would be all over bringing on Horford and sending away Diallo or Nader if it meant getting off of Adams contract.  To me he seems like he would be a great fit with Kemba, Smart, Brown, and Tatum.

Thoughts?

OKC.

They want to shed salary to avoid the luxury tax. Replacing one bloated salary for another bloated salary doesn't help them at all.

Boston.

If you're signing Kemba it means you you think Hayward can get back to near all-star level and stay competitive.

That's a good point, Adams contract is only 1 more year same as Haywards, and the Thunder cannot count on Hayward opting out.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Hayward will be needed this year, especially if Tatum and Brown develop at their present rate.

I agree but they might think about this one a bit.  C's would need more from them. A reasonably healthy Hayward makes OKC a contender in the west if Westbrook decides to pass him the ball once in awhile.

how is Kemba a "scoring wing?" he isn't a wing. He's a point guard

Good idea, but I think that a third team would need to be in on this, and that team gets Hayward.

Something like: (has to be done by June 30th)

Hayward Bucks pick to Cleveland
TT to OKC
Smith and Adams to Boston

Smith gets contract dropped and team is left with an additional 12 mill in cap.

Kemba/Edwards/Waters
Smart/Langford
Brown/Semi
Tatum/Williams
Adams/Williams

OKC paid $61 million in luxury tax this year all for a 6th seed team that got bounced in the first round of the playoffs. They have really no way of making themselves a better team right now. Ownership has determined that lots of salary has to go because they aren't willing to pay $100 million in tax next year for a team that isn't a real contender.

So Adams, and probably Schroder, will be salary dumped this summer, meaning there is about a zero percent chance that OKC would take on Hayward for Adams without a third team being involved that would take on Hayward's salary and get a bunch of picks for doing so.

I came here just to know if you were the OP. You weren't, but here you are with another Hayward trade idea...  Never ends

To answer the OP: Danny, Stevens and Presti say no.

Both teams say no. The idea of trading Hayward right now is just silly it's NOT going to happen for many reasons. Most importantly if he's healthy next year which I believe he will be, he will be by far the best player on the team.

For OKC I'm of the understanding they would trade Stevens for a salary cap dump so this would not help them in anyway.
