Dune was a spectacle to behold in an IMAX theatre. First time I've felt this strongly about seeing a movie in theatres in a long time.

Yeah, I’m a giant movie buff and love science fiction ( even though a lot of it is guilty pleasure junk) but mostly I really love visual storytellers and this was incredible to watch in the theatre. I don’t get to the theatre enough ( even before covid) but I’m so glad I saw it this way. I’ve watched it twice more since. It’s beautiful.
I’ve only read the book once years ago so I C’s t speak to the adaptation but I was locked in snd happy that a sequel was green lit. Warner Bros. Only put up 20 percent for the picture. Legendary put up 80. WB guessed wrong.

For s tone that digs “ A mighty wind” and “Best in Show”  I found Mascots pretty hilarious.

Same crew?  I can't not watch at least some of Best in Show whenever I flip by and it's on.  Fred Willard was at his finest.
Yup

Haven't finished yet but I'm watching "Get Back" the new Beatles documentary.  So far it's fantastic.

Saw King Richard with Will Smith. I thought the story was really interesting and the movie was very well acted. Will Smith does an absolutely great job and so does the wife, especially in the most emotional moments, but what I thought was well done was how natural the girls and the whole family dynamic acted. Not sure if it makes sense, but they did such a great job because it didn't look like they were acting.

Overall, not the kind of movie I would watch it again but definitely worth watching it with great story, fun parts and good feel good movie.

I've started it as well. It really gives you the feeling of being in the room with them.

Third Eye Spies.

I found it interesting, as I’m older and recall a lot of this in the news , even if I didn’t understand it then at all.

Ghostbusters Afterlife.

It was safe in its creative choices, leaning heavily on nostalgia, but pretty entertaining. Some critics were annoyed about the fan service but I think Reitman hit the right tone. No, it is not as manically funny as the original but it has a playful vibe nonetheless and does a good job bridging two eras.

Excited to see what mayhem might arise in a sequel.

Lord help me.  Curiosity got the best of me and I watched Cosmic Sin on Netflix last night.  I should have stopped early on, but then I got committed and had to watch the whole thing.  Bruce Willis plays a washed up Space General who is called back into action to take on an alien force who has it out for earthlings (or apparently just like a good fight).  I won't get into much detail, but Bruce really mailed it in - though most of his lines were 3 or 4 words of lame self deprication.  Just bad.

I guess the effects were ok.
Yup

The Matrix Resurrections

After seeing Neil Patrick Harris in the trailer, I knew it was going to be bad. Was worse than I thought it would be, though. Could barely get through the movie.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The Ref.

It's a Xmas tradition at our Xmas Eve gathering of the family. My family can be as messed up as the family in The Ref. So though the movie is really dark comedy based at Xmas time, a lot of families can see parts of themselves in the messed up family in the movie.
