The Charlotte Hornets would want Brandon Ingram in a potential trade with the Pelicans for the No. 2 pick.

Wonder if NOP would do that. Pushes them back a couple of years more than moving Zion would have (unless his injuries are sorted)

NOP only seem to be looking for deals that allow them to get Scoot Henderson

The Pacers are expected to be one team in the mix for restricted free agent Grant Williams as well. – via Yahoo! Sports

Sources say the Celtics are exploring ways to bolster the roster, whether it’s a sign-and-trade involving Grant Williams during free agency or something consolidating their plethora of guards. – via nbadraft.theringer.com

Celtics: Nesmith, 2023 29th pick

Pacers: Williams (S + T), Prichard, 2023 35th pick

No trading Grant for picks this year — picks would have to be in the future, since free agency is after the draft.  Also, it makes a lot more sense to get back someone making more salary than Nesmith in a Grant trade.  They should be able to get back someone who’s in the $7-9 million range, which could also allow them to use almost or all of the MLE depending what they do with the last couple of spaces on the roster.

Any thoughts on who might be available (that the Celtics would want) for that MLE?

Naz Reed would be my pick as a backup big for the mid level.

Doubt that's enough to get him. Taxpayer midlevel of $6.5 mm is all we could offer. He'll command more, and will probably re-sign with Wolves.

Probably.  To work, it would need to be Ayton and another contract at least as large as say Cameron Payne.  This seems like a bad direction for PHX.  I don't think trading Ayton and some of their remaining depth for an aging, score first guard is the answer for them.    On a team that already has two primary scorers, you add another primary scorer?  MIA seems like a much better roster fit.

You could also start with Chris Paul, assuming that WAS releases him before the guarantee kicks in, or assumes they can flip him, but I would think you would need to include whatever decent young players PHX has left (do they have any?) plus any first round picks they have left, all for a overpaid, injury risk player who really doesn't fit any need.

This PHX rumor sounds like a planted leak to get MIA to increase their offer.

I wonder if the Brogdon rumor from Jake Fischer to the Suns is connected.

Dang. At least send Bradley Beal out west and not to the Lakers so it'll be their problem.

Don't want Miami getting stronger.

I would've guessed Chris Paul and picks. Or maybe they have no picks left after Durant. Then it would need to be Ayton.

I don't think Ayton is a good fit with Porzingis.

Chris Paul's partially guaranteed deal and opening of cap space would be highly valuable for Washington. It would also help balance the Suns books by swapping him for Beal. Not increasing team salaries too much. Or adding a 4th perimeter guy who wants the ball in his hands. CP3 makes more sense to me than Ayton if PHO can put together a few picks with him.

Yikes, If Riley gets Beal for picks only and old lowry, I give up.
