Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Since the Bulls meltdown, the Celtics are 1st in defensive efficiency and third in net rating.  The offense still has some work to do (only 16th over that period), but the defensive change been near night and day.  I think we were near a bottom-5 defense following the Bulls meltdown.  It's interesting that while all the public drama was about the offense, the defense had been more of a problem early in the season, and it has turned completely around.  In the 4th quarter of the Bulls game, we record no defensive rebounds.  Since then, we are leading the league in DREB%.

Hopefully we can slow down the Nets elite offense tonight, and Tatum's continued breaking of his slump will lift the offense from liability to asset.

I still can't quite wrap my head around that Bulls game. What a meltdown indeed.

The defence has been really impressive. We've got a heap of defensive talent on the roster in terms of what our individual players can do on that end, so seeing it finally start to gel is promising. It'll be very important against this Nets team with the firepower it has.

I would love to see our offence take shape a bit more. To me it seems as if it has been carried by individual excellence more than anything else.

Chalk it up to inexperience and falling back into same old habits.

And I do mean inexperience with the new system, new roles (there seems to be more clearer definition of everything now? maybe? ikd? let's see the next few games?) and such that have been implemented.

Can totally see it being a thing where, when the opponent goes on a run, we fall back into bad habits.

Though it seems we've been pretty good about it.

TP to FL for another great game thread. Our first decent test of the season. This will give us a good barometer on where we're at - I hope they're up for it.

Apparently Timelord has some non Covid illness so it’s not his knee thankfully. And Joe Harris is out on Brooklyns side.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Hate these ESPN only games where the NBC Boston crew don’t get to do the commentary.

Was just thinking the same thing. Hate having to listen to Doris Burke. Ugh...
