Why? Williams is a much better defender and passer than Ayton is, and is generally much more positive for offences than Ayton despite his scoring inferiority. Brown is better than Ayton too (obviously) and Bridges is overpaid. Yet we're giving up the 1st??

We're giving up the proven all-star and the first round pick? No thanks.

If we're giving the Suns Jaylen then Booker better be coming back with Bridges or Ayton.

I don't think the value is terrible, but I don't like the fit as I don't think either Ayton and Williams can play PF, so that doesn't work out well.  So I wouldn't do that trade.  Also, I wouldn't want to be up against the hard cap by doing a sign and trade (which is the only way that can work in the summer).

If I could get Murray and Poeltl for Al and two first I'd move Al.

DeJounte Murray would make our defence so awesome. Poeltl is also a great bench big. Would be tempted.

And why wait until the summer, why not just do some version of the trade now.

I mean Brown for Ayton, Saric, and Bridges works as a trade you could do right now. And to alleviate the center log jam, R. Williams can be included.  So Brown, R. Williams for Ayton, Saric, Bridges.  To do that you have to really love Ayton or Bridges though and I'm not sure I do.
