Williams can't stay healthy and Ime does him no favors by starting him.  He has talent but can't stay on the floor.

He’s not “talented”. He’s skilled.
disagree. He isn't skilled very much at all. Relies almost solely on athletic ability
His defensive communication seems to have become a strength. I think that would qualify as a skill.

He also passes very well…he is skilled.

Has there been any explanation about why Williams is so injury prone ?
I don't think it has been the same injury - It's one thing, then another, then something else again.
Some guys just seem to have a physiology that cannot hold up under a full season, or even half-a-season.

We, as in the Celtics, of course.
Didn't you know, we are all management staff.

Jaylen Brown misses tons of games, yet everyone still kisses his behind.

His passing isn’t a skill? His rebounding isn’t a skill? His defensive talk Isnt a skill? His shot blocking isn’t a skill? His footwork isn’t a skill?
O attribute most of that to his natural physical ability
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Great. It nonetheless translates to unique ability. Continuing to call Rob some version of “raw” is just lazy.

And he has a really good touch around the ring. There are lots of insanely athletic tall people in the NBA. There are none as efficient as Rob

Re: talent/skill;

Talent is innate, skill is learned.

Nobody makes it to the NBA without skill.

I'd say Rob's strength is his talent/feel for the ball, unless he actively has practiced falling out of bounds whilst saving a ball, looking around and tipping it to the right person.

That's the kinda situations where talent/instinct takes over, and he's ridiculously good at that.

Same with his timing for blocks, though that's something he's honed by playing a lot, no doubt. (so adding skill to talent)

If Rob plays 60 to 70 games a season I'm happy, as long as he's healthy by playoffs

So far so good. 14 of his first 20 games, on pace to play just over 57 games.

I didn't say he was raw, I said he was talented.  Tatum is talented, doesn't mean he is raw.

Williams is a very gifted athlete.  He translates that well, but I don't think he is all that skilled on the whole.  He doesn't dribble well at all, he is a poor shooter outside of 3 feet, etc.  He does have good passing skills, which are more skill than talent, but on the whole I'd say his success is much more due to his natural athletic ability than skill.  He can certainly improve his skills, much like Horford did, but as of now I think he is more talented than skilled.
