Small thing FL....Tatum won't be covering Jimmy Butler. Tatum always gets the easier cover and Jaylen the tougher cover. Brown will be on Butler and Tatum on Robinson.
Wow, we really do not have a good defensive matchup for Duncan Robinson. Someone quick footed, slight, can run through screens and disciplined off ball defender.

Tatum is too big for Duncan Robinson. Tatum does well when he can stand up and use his size/length. Not chasing around runners. Jaylen too sleepy a team defender (off ball defender) to defend a lights out shooter who only needs a split second's advantage to get a shot off.

Why are we going big against this team? It just bails out the limited PJ Tucker.

We need more speed.

Agree.  Tatum should cover Butler, and Brown should cover Robinson.

When Herro comes in, stick J Rich or Romeo on him.  That guy kills us.

Hella ready for this game.

Bring it on. This one's a real big test.

Sure it won't conclusively show us what to think about the team, no single game ever does that.

But it'd be really nice to see if there's POTENTIAL for us to get somewhere.

What I want;

 - More grit/heart than yesterday
 - Come out swinging, and play four quarters. F O U R. (4.)
 - Assists: Marcus 6+, Tatum 5+, Brown 4+
 - Al to be the FOURTH best player on the team. Not because I want him to play worse, but because I want OTHER people to step up, collectively
 - Not have too many defensive lapses. I'm okay with players making stupid shots against us, but not okay with them taking wide open ones
 - If it wasn't clear yet; PASSING.
 - Brown to get TOUCHES in EVERY quarter. No disappearing again plz
 - Rob to not break down on D too often, and get 3+ putbacks/alleys

Things I'ma not care about yet;
 - Rotations. Cuz I wanna see the starters get good. Play scrappy. Play a lot. Get cohesion.
 - A loss. If we play hard and end up with a really tight game, that's fine.

I know not all of these are gonna be met, but they're what I'm hoping/looking for in this game.

If we do end up winning, I'll be happier ofc. I don't think it'll say much about us, but it'd be nice. A good start.

As a last note;
Should we get blown out, I hope there will be more unrest in the locker room. That "Something's gotta give" topic in mind, it'd be a good thing for us to get some adversity out of the way. And I'm enjoying that this is happening early in the season because it gives them time to think about things, and potentially work through it.

Again; early season is the best time to be terrible.

Thanks Nick!  I agree on the actual matchups and know that they switch everything anyway, so I usually just post the matchups by position.  So even though they won't actually be covering each other most of the time,  both Tatum and Butler are very key for their team's success.

Let's go C's! Hopefully we play more consistently like we did in last night's third quarter.
